How much time does Wlad have before he is past his prime?

He's been fighting at top level since 1999 or 2000. Arguably, he is finishing his prime. I definitely prefer his performances over Byrd and Brock than his performances over Ibragimov and Rahman.

When do you think Wlad will be past his prime? How many good wins does he have left?

Lewis started his career at top level at age 27 -his win over Ruddock-, but Wlad started when he was 24 -against Schulz. I don't think Wlad will be able to fight until he is 36 or 37.

Hum...Vitali at 37 just easily beat Peter. Wlad is what, 31-32?
I say he can still be champ in 5 years.

This is really hard to say. It seems Heavyweights peak a little later than the other weights. I would guess he'll be fighting on this level for another three years, or so.

Heavys mature later anyway, he doesnt take too many clean shots and most of his fights are easy for him, he could be around for a while.

Frankly, I think its possible that he may be a tad past it already. In his last few fights, he has been inordinantly cautious, and against what I would call B level opposition. Sure Sultan Ibragimov was the undefeated WBO champ, and Thompson was it's #1 contender. But, I'm not entirely sure what that even means anymore. While both were decent fighters, I can't call them world beaters, and Wlad fought them like he was trying to gently charm a king cobra. I think its also possible ( though I have no proof ), that he may lost some of his power.

He just said the other night that, like Lewis, he's reaching his peak, now that he's over 30.

He'll be at the top of his game for at least 4 more years. Those K boys take care of themselves, and their conditioning affords them longer lasting, and better, performances at the top of their game, than fighters who balloon up and down in weight. as Vitali's destuction of Peter showed.

I think considering how well both Klitschko's look after themselves and how well Vitali can still perform that Wlad should be fine for 4 to 5 more years at the least.

It's hard to tell how much his timing, reactions and ability to pull the trigger will be affected - other than those attributes I imagine he will stay in pretty good shape for quite a few years, and given that he has a cautious style, rarely takes flush shots and keeps himself in good shape all the time there is a fair chance that he could be at the top for 5 or 6 years and still competitive for a few after that...but that all depends on the intangibles.

I say a couple of years.

When Wlad is slightly past prime by even a small amount he will go down the toilet.

Heck everytime a fighter loses no matter their age the 'experts' on ESB say they are past their prime or exposed. So, the next fight Wlad losses he will be past his prime. :patsch

Answer to question depends on whether he has any more brothers that he can get to fight David Haye before him?

I think that maybe he's not in his peak anymore. Like 1983 Larry Holmes.

at his fitness level and given the fact he has barely been hit since the Peter fight he probably could be on top a few more years.
