Yeah they both won VACANT belts, same **** they didn't beat a champ and both claimed to be. Calzaghe proved himself late in his career smashing Lacy and beating Kessler, hopefully Mundine will grow some balls too.

Blues ,When Calzaghe beat Eubanks it was for the WBO title so he became the WBO champion proper , When Mundine beat Sam he became the wba regular champ (Non Proper ) tile holder as Kessler held the ( WBA proper title ) so whilst Calzagh's WBO title was Legit Mundine's Isn't ,What the WBA should do when Calzaghe gives up the WBA REAL title is order Mundine & Kessler to fight for the VACANT real Wba title to determine who is the REAL WBA Champ ..Regards Josey Wales

I don't remember him being offered that much, or being offered a fight around then. I do remember Warren offering him 30, 000 pound or so a few years earlier.

I agree with that but it's not the case. Mundine is the WBA champion, once Calzaghe vactates his super dooper championship Mundine will still be the WBA champion. Not saying I agree with it but that's how it is.

Josey- Mundine offered both Ottke (for the rematch) and Beyer $1.5m to come to Oz.

Blues , yes thats my whole point mate , Kessler lost his WBA title attempting to unify the titles against Calzaghe unification is what ALL fans of the sport should want and Kessler being the then WBA # 1 should be handed the title back whenever Calzaghe vacates or at least be given the chance to regain the championship against the So Called Champ Mundine , For anyone not agreeing that Calzaghe is #1 ,Kessler # 2 & Mundine # 3 really is just helping these wbc organisations along in thei quest to ruin the sport , seeing Mundine in that picture was hilerious .the "Man" ain't champ of **** , He part fought / Part Bought that tilte with his win over Sam and paying the sanctioning fees , Mundine is a quality fghter and very skilled but he is a BOGUS champ with a plastic belt and the boxing world over know this . Regars Josey

Shiner thats the figure i heared as well $1.5 million equates to £800,000 sterling , No wonder they refused ,they were earning tripe that staying home fighting defending REAL Titles, And Mundines managment knew this so the bid in effect were a half hearted attempt at getting a fight , Mundine had been sparked out by Ottke and he knew if Ottke could do that to him then Calzaghe would have his number also , Hence the route he has taken , He's happy staying down under defending that plastic title against unranked blokes from the argentine and giving his mates a payday sadly . Boxing Kangaroo ,Thanks for the props but its just the way i see things , and im sure a lot of Aussies who haven't been hood winked by Mundine think likewise , Don' get me wrong Mundine is a talent but needs to cut the bull**** and fight at least a Top Ten fella A.S.A.P , Cancel this upcoming farce and target Lucian Bute for a proper belt ,That way when Joe does toss them up in the air he will be in the strongest position as holder of a legit title .Regards Josey

How long before Mundine feels his eye is ok enough for him to step up and fight an opponent? I know he's got stick in the past for picking soft opponents who only come in to make him look good but his current situation means he has a long road to go down before he starts fighting class guys again. He is prob good enough to win a world belt proper when JC vacates and his current standing should help him get recognition.
