Ha! Something was up with that ref that's for sure. Inexperience, incompetence, or a bit of cash in the back pocket....I don't know which one but I still feel bad for Andrade. I thought that fight should have been stopped when Bute fell over on the ropes on his own. He was out on his feet.

All I know is this guy was FIERCELY committed to carrying out his objective for whatever reason. If money was involved that wouldn't be the least bit surprising. You would think some villain had his wife and children hostage upon threat of death if Andrade won the way that he acted.

Probably between 50 and 100. He seemed REALLY intent on fullfilling his objective, WHATEVER it took.

I think somewhere around $10,000. But the real incentive was for bigger fights to referee for bigger dollars down the road. I also wouldn't look at just Bute's people, but more than likely the IBF themselves. The IBF would be the ones to be able to give him the plum assingments in the future.

It is also the IBF that would lose the bigger sanctioning fees they could garner from the big crowds and ratings of Bute. A Librado Andrade win would cost the IBF some serious dollars. The IBF knows that with Kessler not ever wanting to fight outside of Europe and Calzaghe playing out the end of his career that they could milk the Golden Goose of Bute fighting in Montreal against lame ass #1 contenders that they would put in that position at their own choosing.

If the referee was simply incompetant, then his incompetance would have gone both ways at least a little bit. For his incompetance to go in only one direction to that degree by random luch is almost mathematically impossible.
