So if my normal weight is around 68-70 kg (150-154 pounds) is it possible to cut down under 64Kg (140 pounds) for a fight? Or is it even possible to go under 60kg (132 pounds)? What is the most kg or pounds that I can possibly lose just for the fight without risking my health? Body fat: around 11% and Height: around 182cm (6 feet).
Cutting 10 lbs. is normally a piece of cake. Cutting down to 132 at 6' would be giving up a lot though, I feel. You can definitely get that low but you have to consider what your giving up in the process and how your gonna feel come fight day.
It matters how soon you might be fighting after weigh in. Amateur fights tend to happen around 2 hrs before the fights start. So you have to assume that you may be the first to fight. In which case, a weight cut of say, more than 5 pounds is not a good idea. For pros that weigh in 24 hrs before the fight, there's a lot more leeway, so they can do drastic weight cuts of 20 or so pounds. All depends really, there's no absolute number or % that applies to everyone.
Another thing to consider as an amateur is if you're in a tournament that requires you to fight two or three or more days in a row, you have to make weight each day. So if you drain down too far, you have to stay drained for several days. Not a good idea. I've seen amateurs fight one night and then hardly eat and then put on a reducing suit to run a couple of miles in the parking lot because they have to fight again the next day, and they have to take off the weight because they had a real meal or two after the first-day weigh-in.
11% is very high for Boxing at that weight. You can easily cut that to 7% at least. Stop eating them carbs fatty
