Probably does not even do back squats. I could train him for a couple months and have him hitting proper depth with 100 kgs no problem. With a high bar, narrow stance back squat not a low bar, wide stance powerlifting squat.

If that is true then either the insertion of the muscle or the size of mayweather's shin bone is very different. It's true having a shorter leg makes the calve look bigger proportionally, but I just don't think Floyd's legs have that kind of girth. Not that Pac's calves are "huge" in inches for a medium to large sized guy, but they are huge for a guy who once upon a time made bantam and feather weights.

exactly, the ability to lift heavy weights means nothing. I promise you Shane Mosley can still outlift Floyd any day of the week, but in the clinches and in the fight Floyd was the effectively stronger fighter because he took away all that difference in "weightlifting" strength.

Anyone who has hung out in boxing gyms enough knows there is very little correlation between punching power and ability to lift heavy weights. Leverage, reflex speed, etc. In general, a very weak person won't hit that hard, but some of those tall skinny guys who can't bench press 150 lbs can hit like a train.

You people do realize that how much weight you can lift doesn't necessarily determine how strong you are, right?

Yeah, throwing amatuer drunk bar fight level, wild, wide looping punches that knocks out bums (all but 1 and that was a dive) proves how strong or powerful you are.

Wilders legs would snap like twigs if he tried squating. Heck, with tooth pick legs like his I wouldn't be shocked if 100-200 lbs did it. His upper body is definitely strong enough, but not his chicken legs.

Wilder is about 7'0 220. He has chicken legs and no boxing skills. Stiverne is gonna smash his glass chin to bits to be honest

If you don't have long levers you need to be strong if you want to be powerful. So no it probably doesn't matter much at all for someone like Wilder but for 'normal' people of course squatting is going to help with punching power.

Don't know, don't care. I'm more interested in how he can fight against a guy like Stiverne.

You guys are overstating his leg strength severely, lol.
As someone who squats multiple times a week I can tell by looking at him he's probably not ever done 1 full squat.

If he did a full squat I would imagine 225-250 would be difficult for him.
I would not be surprised if when going full depth is he could only hit 185-205 though.
Most likely he does partial squats with 300+ if he does them at all.

Most importantly this is irrelevant, lol.

More irrelevant is that I believe Tyson Fury, would out half squat Wilder in the battle of the skinny leggers power lifting meet.
Fury supposedly deadlifted 550, and I'd guess Wilder's not hitting 400 on that lift.

That would actually be impressive. Non one with legs that skinny is coming close to those numbers going full depth.
    I have never seen it.

I doubt that Wilder does any squat exercises for his own safety.

I have seen newborn infants with thicker legs than his.
