How Much Weight Was Gerald McCellan Known to Cut?

I'd heard around 190 or so. No official figures, though.

I heard him say himself that he will "probably come in around 182" possibly I got the number wrong though...but this was before he had even weighed in and Ive never personally seen official figures.

Really the only evidence I seen is G-Man kind of guessing what he would weigh come fight time.

He was broad as hell, can imagine it would be a lot anyways

 

He probably walked around at cruiserweight size, then 190 pounds. There's a picture of a young McClellan next to Tyson and Moorer, and he isn't made to look small by any means. I personally believe he messed up his weight cut for the Benn fight, which is why he came in several pounds under the 168 lb limit.

 

around 190 lbs he was extremely top heavy big lats and back etc , i dont think he messed up his weight for the benn fight it was his first at super middle he would have made it with more ease than middleweight

 

Or it could have been that he thought it would be easier and ended up being overweight near to the weigh-ins which forced him to go on a crash diet.

Not that I really know though. A lot of unsolved mysteries about McClellan.

 

i did see an interview on the build up to the fight mcclellan was talking about how he'd be comfortable making the weight , whether it was true i dont know but one things for sure he did cut alot of weight to make middleweight

 

He just seemed every bit like a dehydrated fighter against Benn, which may have led to his brain injury.

 

yeh its really cloudy about what really went on there and what was the cause , it could have been jackson or benn who inflicted the damage either are capable , he was blinking very early in the fight which suggests to some it was a problem before he even fought benn but who knows ?
