And how would you rate Hatton's jab? It seems to me that Hatton to be effective, he can't just walk forward as PBF will step to the side and hit him all night. No, Hatton will have to jab his way in tp be effective with his pressure. He's usually pretty good about doing this although, if memory serves, he abandoned his jab in the fight against Collazo. (Am I remembering this correctly?) Not coincidentally, this was Hatton's toughest fight. Will Hatton be able to establish his jab against PBF and if not, will he be able to win the fight?

if he plans to be succesfull the jab will be key. He has to try to just put gloves on floyd. If he winds up for a KO shot on every punch this will look like Wright vs Trinidad.

Do you think he'll be able to effectively establish his jab?

Hatton's jab can sometimes be non existant but I'm guessing its only because he feels he does not need it against certain fighters. I can see Hatton utilizing a stiff jab to get in on Floyd but don't make it a jabbing contest (He will lose badly if he decided to box against PBF).....Hatton must smother PBF in order to be successful, it will be difficult but if Castillo had success I'm pretty sure Hatton can too though a prime Castillo was a superb technition on the inside Hattons pressure is more overwhelming than technical.

I expect Hatton to use the jab to work his way inside.

Good post. I guess I don't think Hatton's jab is nearly as good as Castillo's.

hatton's body stature will fail him this fight his reach is 64 Floyds is 71 no matter what he throws out he will be beat to the punch because floyd is longer and faster.

However if he can get his jab working this fight turns 50/50 quick! But Floyd is to smart to let a smaller shorter fighter use that jab effective to get in close and cause trouble he will side step it and counter alll night because his reach and speed permit it.

thats another reason why i think Hatton is not training the right way for this fight...Hatton is training to for Hatton's gameplan...he is training to maximize his gameplan. I think he needs to train for MAYWEATHER train for what Mayweather does.

Floyd is training not to execute a gameplan because your gameplans change in most fights especially when in with a good fighter they make you adjust so Floyd will go into the fight and adjust accordingly BUT...he is preparing himself for a bigger physical fighter by sparring Baldo, he is preparing for be cut off in the ring with N'dou, he is preparing to be able to protect his body by letting bigger fighters wail on his body. He is preparing for Hatton's offense you see....Hatton on the other hand is not preparing for Floyd's offense as he stated he doesnt respect his power at all and is willing to eat leather just so he can get in and thats the problem...Floyd is preparing for Hatton and i just dont think Hatton is being trained properly for this fight he is training like all his other fights yes he is taking this one more seriously some say he looks in better condition but the fact is it won't matter because he will be stunned at Floyd's offense because he is underestimating Floyd's offense especially his power.

K2...Hatton huggers are SUPER nervous right about now.

At the end of the 2nd episode of 24/7, I noticed something. Hatton is driving and trying to convince himself he can win...

"Floyd has firty free fans. I have firty free thousand. I'm funnier. I can't lose. I want it more. I DO! I can do this. I can do this. I can do this, Billy, right?"

"Sure, lad. The hair on the back of me neck stood up when I first saw you. Your punches made my index finger curl."

Damn that show's gonna pay me off....I love it.

Bottom line....Hatton's contrived spirit will be broken in less than 6 rounds after being scored on at will. He already knows he's outmatched...but wait 'til he actually FEELS himself BEING outmatched in the squared circle.

    It's gonna be beautiful.

you never want to underestimate your opponents offense because its could be costly...now Hatton recognizes Floyd's accomplishments he is P4P #1 he is fast he tells us all th things that We already know....BUT he is very open about the fact that he doesnt respect Floyd's power....i think thats a big mistake...period.
