Billy is watching PBF video clips right now in the hotel still trying to devise that great plan of Team Hattons (probably writing it on a pillow with that infamous index finger) :patsch

What a load of bollocks. Why don't you all stop trying to predict the outcome? It's ridiculous. K2ray, you're a grade A knob end.

You fit in that category more than I do:good..I'm telling facts (I have even stated that physically Hatton is in a good place, just that it has been accomplished way too soon). Real Huggers wouldn't have the gall to praise the enemy!

Hatton will try to Jab as much as he can to get inside. It is pretty much the only punch that Floyd is "open" to. He has a very underrated jab also.

I think there could be some success early on for Ricky if he employs this tactic. But if he does not hurt Mayweather, Floyd will eventually start to time him with his right and that is not a good thing for Ricky.

And dmelicious you are a Hatton hugger from your replies to good points made by supporters of PBF with : you could/might/may be right.., but, ...to a certain point..., but... etc etc..

Now as soon as there is a valid point by a Hatton Hugger its : High Fives, Right-on, Gimme 5, Let's go bowling, etc!

I'm thinking Castillo had a stiffer jab as he has always been more flat footed and Hatton's jab is more the lunging type. Hatton's jab may not be his best wepon but he can make it effective if he uses it to get in PBF's body safely. Both men have qaulities or better yet habits to will allow the other man opportunity for instance: Hatton tends to lunge with punches more so with movers allowing a fighter to counter effectively, aslo Hatton tends to fall in love with his quick aggressive combos which also allows a fighter to counter which happens to be PBF's strong point. PBF on the other hand will sometimes get into his patent pocket stance which he has perfected but against and no holds bar type fighter like Hatton this will play to his advantage. PBF will allow Hatton to get off but he must not underestimate Hatton's speed on the inside....Hatton can turn side to side creating angles and hit anything available to him. Its an interesting matchup because neither man has seen anything like the other in the ring. Obviously PBF is the better adjuster while Hatton is the more durable/determined fighter. Both men are high qaulity combatants and both will give us a great show. Can't wait for Cotto to meet the winner or loser.

The jab is basic boxing 101.Rick knows as well as anyone jabs set up right hands and combinations.Ricks problem will be when Floyd times the jab and starts countering off of it like he did against Oscar.

From what I've seen of Ricky, he's not really a 'jabber.' His whole style is to slip, weave and move in with punches ranging from straight rights, jabs to left hooks, and then smother and muscle his opponents, while sneaking in hard body shots and uppercuts. He's also great at 'stepping' - moving to the side to create openings and rip more punches. He's a very clever, very skilled fighter. He has a bit of a leaky defense, but other than that, I think he's got the tools to beat Mayweather.

    Good assessment....

If both men come in 100% focused and on top of their game PBF wins a tough hard fought SD.

thats just it...he has to slip weave punches from a boxer who is extremly accurate and not to mention when he feels a fighter is too close he moves with precision and haste....Hatton will be doin a lot of resetting in order to inflict his gameplan which will cause his gameplan to stall while he tries to figure out how he can get in close but he can not keep taking punches....thats obsurd to think he should and can...underestimating FLoyd's power is not a good thing.

None and it's the main reason why Hatton won't win. His short arms and lack of a jab will make it harder for him to get inside and work his magic. He'll be picked off when he comes in with jabs and straight right hands all night long. People here just don't know how important a good jab is when facing someone like PBF.

Yes the key is technical. Castillo unlike Hatton had a good jab that allowed him to work his way inside. Hatton is nowhere as good as Castillo in that department and will have hell getting caught almost everytime he tries to work his way in. This is why I get so mad with the ignorance on this forum. Castillo and Hatton fight nothing a like. A prime Castillo was a much better pressure fighter than Hatton who's more of a swamer mauler. They have about as much as in common as Spinks-Mayorga in styles.:deal
