It depends on what he does after he loses. If he learns from his mistakes and keeps fighting the best, his stock can only rise. If he does a Prince Naz and retires, then he'll drop significantly.

If he lost he would have some excuse that his boys would believe.

Well considering the way the boxing world works, and the arrogant way in which Floyd flaunts his unbeaten record, you can bet your house he'll be slaughtered by the media and fans if he finally loses. They will make his stock plummet.

However me personally, clean records don't mean ****. In my eyes his stock won't drop too much, simply because his achievements prior have been amazing enough. It'll certainly be a surprise yes, and a result I would gladly welcome, but it doesn't wipe out his previous performances and victories. His legacy is pretty much in a safe position, and can only be enhanced in future fights.

As for Calzaghe, he doesn't even deserved to be mentioned in the same breath as Mayweather, even if he goes on to lose to both Mosley and Pac.

I think it all depends on how Mayweather loses to Mosley? As everybody knows if you fight the best eventually you may lose, but it's how you lose and bounce back that ultimately determens how you're stock drops.

The one thing that Mayweather has done though that I think works against him more then anything else if he were to lose. Is that he's put sooo much stock and effort into keeping his "0" that the media and his detractors will have a field day with the lose.

It will drop greatly! The zero is the main leverage Money has for marketability, the reason he's a PPV draw is the fact that people want to see him finally get his ass beat, once Mosley beat's that ******'s ass a lot of the appeal that draws people to a money fight will be out the window, I mean do you really think Mayweather's action packed style is the draw?????? lol

The first guy who beats him will be labeled as the first true test he took. His stock drops a lot in my eyes if the first time he fights a real welterweight he loses. Even if he goes 1-1 against Mosley/Pac in any combo, he is still only winning 50% of his good fights.

his stock will drop but i think if Floyd lost then he'd comeback and fight like he did at 130, because he won't be afraid about losing n keep that defensive style 24/7. He would keep fighting for years n years to try "make up" for that loss. He thinks hes G.O.A.T because hes never lost, his reason would have gone and he would have to rebuild.

It depends how badly he gets beat and if he comes back just as strong from that loss. But we will just have to imagine cos floyd has never looked lik hes gonna get beat and i dont see him gettin beat.

If he loses to Shane, be assured Al Haymon will be putting a spin on the loss and Floyd's so-called career to make it seem like a small, trivial matter when before it was all they could think of in every interview and press statement: the "0".

But I can't see Floyd doing a 180-degree turnaround if he loses, not after saying all those things about being undefeated. He'd probably retire for good, and totally avoid the public eye.

His career will be regarded as very good at lightweight, but beyond that weight class as just smokes and mirrors.

If he beats mosley and pacquiao, how many of you will allow him to sail off onto the sunset without questionng him anymore?

Mosley is old and Pacquiao shouldn't be fighting at 147(but that is where the money is).

I want to see Floyd beat Paul Williams at either 154 or 147 and beat Sergio Martinez at 154.

If he can do that, I would consider him an alltime great, but he has been cherry picking since he left the 130pound division.

if he loses his "0" then there's nothing more to protect. he'll finally fight all the other elite welters.
