How much will Pacquiao's depleted gas tank matter?

Manny used to throw hard punches non stop, every second of every round.

When he stopped Barrera he went 11 rounds of total nonstop pressure and hard punching.

The fact that he can't do that anymore doesn't that take away his greatest strength which is his ability to continually throw hard punches for 36 minutes?

we'll have to wait and see

even working way below his former capacity, Pac's tank has more stamina than the vast majority of fighters out there.

it certainly will have more than any of Floyd's opponents in the last decade, bunch of no stamina having plodders most of them

Gasnelo, Cotto, Maidana, Guerrero, etc all of them have average to just plain garbage stamina, they all fade in the later rounds, no wonder Floyd (who excels in speed and stamina) picked them as opponents, if you add the slow ass speed of some of them you have the excellent recipe for a Mayweather Cherrypick.

He threw 694 punches against Barrera and landed 37%.

He threw 669 punches against Algieri and landed 34%.

Keeping in mind that Barrera fought him and Algieri ran[and that the Barrera fight was over 10 years ago], I'd say the the depletion of his "gas tank" isn't that significant.

Pacquiao's stamina is remarkable, as if Floyd's. You won't ever see them lose a fight because they're tired. I've done ****ytical breakdowns on Pac's stamina and he actually has better stamina now than he did in 2012. He seems to be more focused after the loss. His accuracy has improved since a few years back as well.

Thorwing that many punches against a great like Barerra is a more impressive stamina feat than throwing the same amount against a caged scrub like Algeri. If anything, your example proves how much Pac's stamina has depleted.

I believe that the decline in stamina is a huge factor. 5 years ago I would have picked Pac to outwork Floyd and win rounds via sheer activity. Now, I'm not sure he can do that.

You're not factoring in their styles. I'll break it down tomorrow. It's too late and I'm about to go to sleep, lol.

    I'll break it down

    Mayweather TKO9 Pacquiao

Pacquiao can't handle him, there's no way.

Floyd will walk him down and put those right hands on that mandible. :yep

After he beat the faded Barrera, and got off of the HGH, his tank has been close to "E". No PEDs/HGH, no stamina. He might try a new designer steroid so it's a wait and see thing.

His gas tank is a main source of showing life in this fight. If that's depleted and he runs out of gas, he's losing this. This is a type of fight where you either come 100% or you have no hope.

The "A side of meff" is legendary and I heard Floyd can get that. I just don't think Floyd wants to share. HGH does nothing for stamina and the PEDs Pac had were coming from Ariza. Alex hasn't been with Pac for a couple of years but Mannys Stamina looked like Alex was still in his camp last time out against Chris. Maybe the "A side of meff" has residual effects?

Word in the street is buboy has been secretly feeding him butterfingers during training camp. Manny was quoted, "why train hard? My taxes are paid in full."

It didn't matter before the fight was signed in January 2015, so why should it matter now?

It will play a big factor. At the top level at anything the best players/fighters/teams make their opponents play/fight at their tempo and impose their will on the fight/game. Pac is one of the only guys who can offset Floyd's tempo at all.
