ambitiondef insinuated that Magarito's so called plaster was reduced to plaster fragments and you must be insinuating that they some how were magically reduced to non plaster ?

    Please elaborate!

Oh bloody hell, here she is. :verysad

In a thread aaaaages ago, I was shedding light on the possibility that Tony maybe, just maybe, was oblivious to it all. I used an article which described Tony touching and feeling the insert for the first time, and conceding its potential to do harm whilst saying he did not know about it.

I'm rummaging through my old posts now to find it.

I know scanning machines that could easily find the chemical make up including 02. They have been around for years

I'm saying, the reason why people keep referring to it as 'plaster-like', because it had elements in there which is used to make plaster of Paris. It may not have had the extra ingredients necessary for it to go completely solid, but at the same time, it wasn't as soft and harmless as some are trying to make out.

The inserts did reinforce the wrappings; therefore increasing the damage of the punches.

Because it would be technically incorrect to say they found Plaster of Paris.

Plaster of Paris requires three important things: Sulfur, Calcium and Oxygen.

Because they do not trace the last element (oxygen) they can only factually say they found trace elements found in Plaster of Paris.

But they are not traceable in the machines used to test the hand wraps for illegal compounds. This cannot be disputed.

Trace elements doesnt sound very hard and dangerous and thus it was probably more of the typical cali kangaroo court semantics

What machines were used and why didnt they just use an electron microscope as most courts or fair minded people?

Plaster of paris, also called calcium sulfate hemihydrate (calcium, sulfer, and oxygen) is derived from heated gypsum mined from a quarry in Montmartre, Paris. However, without oxygen is like saying: we found some hydrogen and all that was missing to make water was the oxygen. So what is this mysterious chemical that Dr. Capetillo concocted? I believe it would have to be none other than calcium sulfide which is derived via carbothermic reduction (removal of 02) of calcium sulfate. Calcium sulfide, fairly common in Nevada, is a salt used since ancient times in homeopathic remedies, particularly for fungus and infections of the skin; and which would go quite nicely with a gauze used to prevent infection of a boxer’s bloody knuckle.

Now according to Restro, Panama Louis not only removed padding from the gloves but made his wraps like a cast but this plaster bit only came out during HBO's Assault in the Ring which probably paid Restro quite handsomely to dice things up; and all IMO to vindicate Oscar's hate of Margarito who made very public some whining sparring episodes up at Big Bear.

Oh and Naseem says it was rock hard but most including Shane Mosley say it was soft.

What did the CSAC have to gain by declaring Margarito cheated and further suspending him?

Further, what did the CSAC have to gain by denying him re licensing in a fight that would have made California big money?

The point here is, there is nothing but tape and surgical gauze allowed for hand wraps. Further, there is a set amount of length you can use with surgical gauze. Adding weight of any form in any compound is illegal.

Claiming it to be plaster or plaster-like or concrete is irrelevant. What is relevant is that wrapping a fighter's hands illegally is illegal.

What are you talking about?? What part of illegal substance dont you understand?? They were not legal wraps at all, they contained elements of plaster of paris, nothing legal about that in a wrap

Your not reading my posts. The courts and the CSAC are known crooks and "usually" the down to earth Americans citizens realize that the winner of a court case is the one who chews the most fat with the those cali fat cats.

Do you really believe Margarito deserved to be banned for life as Oscar emotionally and publicly insisted and compared to Restro's battering of Billy Collins in all the major newspapers and cable networks and documentaries? Documentaries based on the testimony of a money hungry low life bringing up all kinds of new crap about a plaster that was never spoke of before.

And all based on these trace elements on a likely "protective" knuckle pad?

    Where is the motive?

Are you going to produce it or fabricate it?

I'm not on the CSAC so I don't know what they were looking at. I can only say that I don't see a motive for them to deceptively tarnish one of the bigger names in the sport who unarguably made the welterweight division interesting for paying customers.

It wouldn't be good for their business. Particularly if they were shady crooks anyways.

I don't care what you call it. If it isn't simply tape and gauze it is illegal to place it in a boxer's hand wraps.

Trinidad's hands were forced to be re-wrapped when it was found that Trinidad Sr was dipping the wrapped hands in cold water to set the tape and gauze like a cast.

It just goes to show you have to wrap hands in a very strict fashion.

Oscar is a known vengeance freak and corrupter of boxing rules and slanderer of Arum fighters and particularly Margarito who exposed Oscar during a call out and was fired for beating him up at Big bear. It was all on Margarito's website for years and probably still is

Its all more ESB's typical Sodom mob mentality. And remember that we warned you y'all that what goes around comes around

    Later on:good

So Oscar paid off the CSAC to slander Margarito while Bob Arum sat idle looking on?

I find that very hard to believe.
