He normally rehydrated by 7-14 pounds. Freddie Roach expected him to rehydrate between 10-15 pounds for the fight, as did Nacho Bernstein, because he hadn't fought at WW for almost 8 years.

But he made weight early, and only rehydrated by two pounds after the weigh in. He looked ill and his body looked depleted.

Depends what weight he was fighting at.

I think what happened in the Pacquiao fight was the same thing that happened in the Chavez fight. A young lion took down the old lion.

Theres videos of Roach on youtube saying he knew Oscar couldnt bang anymore, hence why they took the fight with him and not with Shane. Shane went to the wildcard and wanted the fight and Freddie said only if its at 142 lbs for the WW title.

He then said he seen Oscar running laps and he had track marks on his arms from where they were rehydrating him. They done the weight completely wrong for that fight. He was probably 20lbs lighter fight night than he was for his previous few fights.

But thats his own fault, not anybody elses.

There was talk of weight stipulations written into the contract for the Pac fight where Oscar had the weigh within the WW limit on fight night, although I highly doubt that seeing Oscar would've had all the pull at the negotiation table.

It's possible his body broke down so much trying to make the weight that he was unable to rehydrate within the time frame of the weigh in and fight night.

It's still a very surreal situation, too see a fighter moving up 2 weight classes an being bigger in the ring than the guy moving down one class.

It used to be quite annoying when people where claiming Pac was beating on these bigger men. Kudos for the other guys but Oscar was a few pounds lighter than Pac on fight night.

As already mentioned none of which was Pacs fault, all he did was brutally beat what was put infront of him.

There was talk that Oscar was actually hooked up to an IV drip in the dressing room before the fight to rehydrate.

Apparently Roach saw the marks on his arm and told Pacquiao to go right at him.

Its up on youtube somewhere with Roach talking about it

I think Oscar was 145 at the weigh in and i have heard rumours of him not being allowed to weigh over 147 come fight night. The same with Margerito i hear he couldnt weigh over 150 fight night, not 170 as some like to claim.

But i did think Pac would have trouble with Oscar when the fight was announced even though Oscar was at the tail end of his career. When i seen Oscar fight night i knew he was in for a beating!

This is why I think it was a horrible victory, along with some of Pac's others. Great names but carefully selected at the right time. They ducked Shane and Roach is on record talking about selecting Oscar, Shane, and Margarito at the right time but nobody says anything about it. Pac's current great fights are against Bradley and Marquez, and Bradley hasn't done much at welter. Pac's been fighting JR welters lately, not so he can get KO's, but so he doesn't get KO'd.

Too bad he didn't fight Margarito in his prime or closer to it. Still impressive nonetheless.

"Margarito's a big 147 pounder and little closer to his prime right now so I don't think we want that fight" - Roach PARAPHRASED.

Listen after pac destroyed toni he was getting praised from all over even floyds daddy could not believe it.

Toni was 20 pounds more then pac and the way pac beat him bearing in mind pac was a former flyweight that is impressive rarely has anyone ever gone for the knockout against toni even cotto was boxing him and never wanted to trade with him

He did it all wrong, too much dieting, not enough training. He starved himself instead of sweating it off. Jones Jr did the same coming back down to LHW.

Margarito wasn't 100%, that's the only reason Roach took that fight, he even told Margarito in the face-off. He only picked him because he was on a bad streak. Are you telling me they chose Margarito because he was dangerous? Because Roach himself said they chose him because he looked like **** lately.

    Answer these questions in order:
    1) Why didn't Pacquiao fight Mosley after Mosley beat Margarito?

    2) Why did he want Mosley at 143 and Margarito at 150?

roach was just playing mind games anyone who says beating toni is easy does not know the sport after pac beat toni cotto was boxing him and could not even put a dominating performance where as pac fought him toe2toe

pac fought him the same time mayweather fought him only a couple of months difference now let me ask you why did mayweather wait for shane to take a 18 month lay of before agreeing to the bout?

you're second question can easily be countered why did Floyd want canelo and Oscar at 147?
