I love sparring and would do it everyday if i could, just wondering how often everyone else spars. and what there weekly training usually goes like i.e. tuesday sparing wednesday technique friday bag work
every Tuesday and Thursday sometimes around 10 guys sparring for 2 hours most times about 5 for about half an hour
Although your not supposed to spar everyday, i try to get atleast two light rounds in on the days that i do my conditioning circuit just so i can work on stuff with new people. Generally when i spar i do anything from 3 to 12x 3min rounds. one day i really over did it and went 19, but but about 6 of them were coaching rounds where i would help out the new guys. so basically working on moving and defense while i coached them. But normally i do my heavy boxing with some of the pro's out of our gym
In my gym we used to spar tuesdays and thursdays, but I never really looked forward to them because a lot of the people from the gym would get easily mad and frustrated if they got tagged hard and wanted to make it a real fight.
If it's light sparring then you could do it 5 days a week without it doing u any harm. But for solid, hard sparring I don't think you would want to do it more than 3 days a week.
I usually do it every night I'm at the gym when I have a sparring partner; typically 3 nights a week; sometimes 2. Depends on the time of year.
it depends on opponent. if opponent is much stronger than you, and he hurts you well, you can't keep doing it everyday. Nobody can do sparring everyday with headache or just you haven't felt heavy headache ever...
