How often do you think an amatuer boxer should train?

I used to train 5 days a week when I was in training. However I have heard of programs that were 3 days a week and had guys competing. This would be considered undertraining for pro boxers but maybe 5-6 days a week is overdoing it for a non pro athlete?

Amateurs should be in the gym no less than 4 days a week in my opinion. They can do with 2 or 3 days a week of boxing training, as long as they are in the gym doing cardio/conditioning/strength training on other days. Pros, probably 6 days.

Train when you can. It makes no difference how often xxxxx trains. Who cares?
