Just wondering how often I should do roadwork for boxing? My trainer said do 4 days on 1 day off 4 days on 1 day off ect... I just wanted to hear other opinions, because I dont want to run anymore than I need to.

Im aiming to get in the best condition, improve my cardio significantly, and lose weight along the way. I just want my gas tank to be full.

You don't have to run that regularly at all.

Running wont get you in the best conditioning for boxing but it will help. ATM im doind long runs alot to try and lose weight not for fitness

3 times a week is enough, but there has to be a plan to it. Distance What and why. Intensity, how fit are you. Its getting the Balance right to progress.

Intensity works better than simply long distance running.

Ill throw something in, Try this, get someone with you with a whistle, to warn you off Danger, and where you are. Now find a Running Track, get in the centre lane, on a 9 lane track. Now run at 8o p/c max, down the track, the straight bit.with your eyes shut. If after 50 yards you are in lane 1, dont try intensifying your work you will get injured, your Biomechanics are wrong :D

You should run across a tightrope along a cliffside being held by two epileptics while balancing an egg in a spoon in your mouth, and running away from ferocious pterodactyls just to see a portrait of that heavenly blessed beauty drawn by caveman.

THAT's how much you should run, OP.

No Tom,:rofl. Its actually for Elite Athletes, unless you are, you wouldnt last five minutes on it while everything is connected. You would produce 30% more Lactic than Running, but your Heart would be more efficient by 35% when lateral. Also it makes your CNS perform better. No impact on the Spinal Cord. Pop down the EIS, the Elite area, ask them to let you try it :rofl.
