Cruiserweight fights actually happened first in Britain in the early 20th Century. Heavyweight (open) title fights begin in the the 18th Century with James Figg.
I think that these divisions existed in some form before the dates listed. There were fighters claiming the middleweight title of Britain as far back as 1853.
