Every time i read an article about Matt Skelton his age seems to change. How old is he 45? 48? 50? Lirva mentioned on the post about Eugene Maloney that he received threats from Maloney when taking the **** over Skeltons real age. Could Skelton be the oldest Heavyweight in the World to fight for a credible title ?
In the Price vs Harrison 'fight', Bunce & Lillis none to subtely implied that he is a good couple of years older than his 'stage age' of 45. 48 was their guess .... Has there ever been a more embarrassing match up for the British & Commonwealth Heavyweight titles in recent memory? I certainly can't recall one atsch
I think he must be pushing 50. I followed him from his early days on Sky and I am pretty sure that when he fought Big Bob Mirovic in 2004 the commentators (probably Darke and McCrory) were already banging on about how hold he was, saying he was 42 or 43? Now you do the maths! I'd pretty sure he is NOT 46.:think
Thats what i was thinking he has got to be around 50. Forget Boxrec etc they dont require the fighters passport as proof of age.
