How on earth did Campbell Hatton manage to get that decision?

One can never beat a Ottke in Germany by decision, and so one can never beat Hatton by decision in England. This is boxing law.

Yeah. The mistake is analysing that outcome in terms of what it means for Hatton, and I just made it. The consideration should go to Martinez, who showed plenty of moxie and spirit while exploiting Hatton's glaring shortcomings and deserved to win. I did turn and say that his brief exhibition of showboating late in the bout would just be another factor to help jaundice the decision of the referee; it's never a good idea to clown around or goad if you're an unheralded foreigner with no promotional clout up against a house fighter in the UK.

    a) By someone paying the referee a good deal of money prior to the fight.

    b) By someone holding the referee's daughter hostage with a knife at her throat till the result became official.

    c) By someone slipping hallucinogenic drugs in the referee's tea prior to the fight.

    d) By someone threatening to publish pictures showing the referee sodomizing a young goat.

    e) All of the above.

A truly out of date system and you have to wonder why this is still in place, probably to protect our prospects from having their career setback by overseas journeymen.

Hearn has repeated it a number of times now in different interviews over the last 2 days... he wants Campbell to rematch Martinez.

I don't think Ricky and Matt will want that to happen, I really don't, I don't think it ends well if it happens, the crowd will be cheering Martinez on, trust me, boxing fans can be brutal.

So what does Hearn do with him? Martinez beat him handily and was robbed, so where do you find opponents for him? And what sort of level are they going to have to be at?

And how do you put those sorts of fights on TV if the standard is so so so low?

Because almost everything is a risk at the moment.. you wouldn't be confident in sticking in him with anybody.

He is so easy to hit, he doesn't have any power, now there is a problem of fans turning on him because they know he is getting special treatment and they were booing him/the decision Saturday.

I wouldn't be surprised if he "takes a break", a good 6 months, comes back next year, hoping that the Martinez decision is a faded memory and he can have some grace for being out for say errr 6 months and get a really easy opponent from somewhere and then move forward from there.

Why I hate boxing. The blatant robbery that you can do nothing about.
