Maybe it's just his natural build but for a short guy without long arms it is probably not a good idea to have such thin legs. If you are tall like Hearns then it seems easier to get away with but so much power is generated from the lower body (see Tyson, Tua, Nas etc.. for relatively short fighters with big legs, great leverage and consequently a big punch!). The problem with carrying that much weight without the lower body strength to match might mean that his footwork is impaired. I don't know, pure conjecture!
I'm pretty sure I remember him saying he was never big on weight lifting, and that his build comes from whatever type of work (can't recall what exactly) he did in Colombia.
They said last Wednesday when he was a kid, he pushed boulders from his village into town for some local quarry.
Has anybody seen a stronger 140 pounder? Dujuan Johnson was strong as an ox and gave Hearns hell in sparring, going right at him, but with all due respect, I think Urango is physically stronger. He made Hatton look like a little kid in comparison.
Hatton himself is a beast at 140, Urango was much, much stronger. I'd say he has to be the strongest 140 ever.
Some people are naturally diesel like that ... he doesn't need to lift weights - even though he might !!
true. hed prolly end up moving to welterweight if he gaind weight downstairs. Hes still a strong guy at 147. berto had to wrap him up alot. Its clear that berto watched the hatton fight and used that to develop a game plan lol.
