How or why did 'Tyson' snap to embarrass himself in 1997?

I'll agree that Holy owned Tyson for the most part, but it wasn't easy by any means....... Tyson was there and trying, but losing his ass.... Holy just had better skills at age 34 than the 30 year old faded Tyson had......

    Nothing plastic surgery can't fix.

He still had an easy win and an ownage of Tyson.

    Tyson came away with nothing.

Off topic......... Who else thought Tyson fought like a thug / ******* in Sweden against Louis Savarese back in 2000??? After decking Savarese with the first shot thrown, Tyson went on a freakazoid mission to kill Savarese....... Tyson cared LESS about the referee and rules...... He could've been DQ'd there........

Anyone remember when Holyfield was a guest on Letterman a few nights after the fight, and the very first thing they did was show a close-up on the ear? Plus all of the Tyson TV Dinner jokes.

Yeah he went psycho in that fight and even hit the referee! He needed help big time. Imagine growing up in a bad environment, losing your Mom before you become an adult, and finding out the girl you loved only loved your money. That takes a toll on anyone I hope he finds peace. Mike just wants to be loved...

i think it was several things,Tysons not the most stable guy on the planet,he was surrounded by total assholes and i always suspected he was on juice and roid raged after all of Holys favorite headbutts.

I am tired of the headbut, deserves a bite retaliation moronic comments, c'mon grow up! in the first fight if you watch there were head butts and for the most part all seemed coincidental, one in particular where it is tyson's head coming in at preety good hit.

Could someone give me a tally of butt's, outside of the moronic "TONS" and do an actual count on butts, only of which (it's been a while since i watched it) 2 seemed to be led by Holfield and 1 preety good crack? Does anyone have a rd by rd count????

Either way, Tyson should have been able to compose himself, I would think even a sensible tyson fan cannot justify this??? I personally believe that tyson was certainly out of his prime, and in the end of the cycle of being a major player, and that frustrated him emotionally...I'm not knocking him, as many great athletes wonder what to do when the end gets in sight? In the past Tyson had by sheer brutality been able to either dominate or give a good showing, and in this case he was stymied. He couldn't push his way through the wall in front of him. Combined with tragic violent youth, the charges and jail time (regardless of opinions on his guilt), the public break-up's, new management, I don't believe he had any stability to find peace in.

And he snapped! Now as much as anybody's elses scenerios mine is largely speculation, but either way people need to stop justifying his behavior just because they like him!

Yes, earbiting in retaliation to butts is ****ing ridiculous.

Having said that, I've never seen a man get away with blatant butting as much as Holyfield. In practically every fight I've seen him in.

I've even read an article where it says Holy doesn't just have a 1-2, he has a 1-2-3. Left, right, butt.

    Sounds about right.

I never suspected Tyson of being a "Roider" until he was released from the pen in 1995.......... By 1999 to 2002, I think Tyson was smoking some Weed; sniffing Coke & Juicing from time-to-time........

I now suspect that Holy has been juicing hard eversince his rematch with Bowe in 1993...... That 217 1/2 pounds Holy came in at was just "TOO RIPPED" in my book....... Plus the scandalosity of 'Evan Fields' is sketchy too........

Off topic....... I just did two quick reviews of Duane Bobick vs. " Tate & Norton." Poor Bobick had no defense, nor did he know how to hold...... Poor guy..... Bobick was hammered 2X.......
