I see a lot of posters claiming Hatton would EASILY clean out the 140 lb division today. There are some who don't see it the same way, to say the least. I truly fear that Hatton's diehard fans will continue to overrate him more and more as time goes on. What do you think, ESB?
There seems to be no happy medium with hatton, its like one extreme to another, some overrate him saying he'd clean up,others severely underrate him saying they all beat him,I believe this is a better crop of 140 fighters than when Hatton ruled, however Hatton would be one of the top fighters in the Division,he'd win some and lose some, they'd be great fights, fights like Rios Alvarado matthyse etc
To be honest I'm not really sure how good Ricky ever was, even though I'm a big fan. I think a lot of the loyalty towards his ability and defending even legitimate criticism stems from his charisma. I don't think he'd have done well against Kostya or Castillo in their primes, and yeah, the 140 division wasn't brilliant in his day. Still, his performance against Mayweather was really gutsy. Does anyone remember where he was ranked P4P in his prime?
top 10, maybe as high as 4-6 when he fought mayweather - no doubt boosted up to make the fight more appealing. though I think Zoo was top 3 when Hatton beat him.
Massively overated. How many great wins did he have? The Tszyu win is one of THE most ridiculously overated victories of the last 50 years. His fans point blank refuse to acknowledge the fact that everyone knows Kostya Tszyu was over the hill and inactive. It was a scrappy fight which took place in a ring the size of a shoebox. And that's all it comes down to with Ricktards, the Tszyu fight Other than that what the **** else? Castillo? :rofl And Collazo whopped his arse. The bulk of Hattons prime tool place in Manchester fighting WBU bums flown in by Fisheyes. But Ricktards truly are the biggest bellends in boxing and the worst of all the 'tards' in the sport. They don't know **** about boxing, you could fit their combined knowledge on the back of a stamp so there's truly no point at all engaging them in conversation.
