This thread could turn into a arguement about his race, which we don't want. As a fighter on saturday he proved to me why he won a silver in the Olympics. However though through is early part of his career when he was nearly being knocked out and before the prescott fight he still and this dillusion that he was the best in britain when he clearly was not. Will he have the same support hatton had going over to vegas probably not.

The different between you and I is, You were being a Racist with real content to offend a fighter, and others infact, whereas I said something that was obviously sarcastic, which you also ended up editing :lol::lol:.

You know, the funny thing is, even if I did say that, it's still not racist because there's nothing wrong with me being Asian and liking Khan for that reason you silly twat :lol:.

This is a corrupt conversation with a moronic poster who's been exposed countless times.

    I'm off to talk Boxing.

    Facepalm.

His brother fought for p.akistan because the GB squad didnt select him. Whats he to do? He even used his success in the CW games to highlight to the selectors that he should have been in the GB squad, which he considers first his nation to represent over p.akistan...

Amir Khan on the other hand does deal with racism whether its blatent or thinly veiled. Im not saying everyone who dislikes him are as such..

I remember when he got KOd by prescott in rd 1 and read video comments, it was made pretty clear. A whole load of BS like,

''It's really interesting - Amir Khan enters the ring as a British Sporting Icon and leaves as a f**king P.aki. ''

''What do Amir Khan and TB have in common?

One jab and it's all over.''

..and so on and so forth.. If you want to humour yourself you can find a whole load of them here,

    http://www.sickipedia.org/search/1/?q=amir+khan

Even Nick Griffin of the BNP stated Amir Khan should leave the UK..
Its clear in this current climate of fear towards muslims etc, that Khan is a target to a lot of malicious hate.

Everyone I know hates him. They think he's arrogant, doesn't connect with the people and is a wannabe Yank

The amount of abuse (especially rasict) has been huge

Personally Im a massive Amir fan, he comes from a good family, has given back to his community through the TV show he did to try and used boxing to help youngsters who have gone off the rails

I love the fact that he genuinly wants the big names and wants to become a legend. This isn't arrogance at all.

He has great hand speed, good power and is an exciting fighter. Plus with the question marks around his chin people think he could be taken out any second so fans are always on their tows when they watch him

Im Welsh, so Im not sure if this thread applies to me. But no-one has really taken to Khan here, but Im a huge fan!

Didn't he beat the kid who was selected over him?

And to be fair you do say "even Nick Griffin" like its an unusual thing for him to say. who in their right mind listens to that fat ****?

That door swings both ways. Some folks dislike Khan because he is a Muslim, just like other folks support him because he is a Muslim.

    Again to be fair:

"I really admire Amir Khan for setting an example to the **** society.

At least he knows his ****ing place!...on the floor with a fat lip! "

This is way out of line and not even remotely funny, and certainly didnt come from a boxing fan

    but these:

"What's the difference between Amir Khan and a Rustler's burger?

    About seven seconds. "

"What's the difference between Amir Khan and my wife?

My wife never goes down. "

    at the time were hilarious.

Haroon Khan may not be as effective a fighter as his brother, but he has taken every chance to show Great Britain what he is made of. He had reached a stage in his career that he needed to show his skills on a world stage in order to go pro, and the GB selection team also knew this.

He couldn't wait another four years for an opportunity that both James DeGale and Amir Khan used to launch their pro careers (Degale got Gold and Amir Silver).

But you know what is the biggest shame for GB? Not only did he take part in the Olympics, he actually beat his counterpart on the Great Britain team to win the Bronze at the Olympics i.e. he proved the selectors VERY wrong. ;)
