IIRC I think that was in an old self defence manuel or something. It's not how people boxed though, atleast not generally.

They stated that putting Wilder vs the best chins in history in the classic section has resulted in a ban for constantly posting wrong threads in the classic section and if I do it one more time I will be banned permanantly.

Honestly I'd suggest just not posting threads

Ah, in taekwondo that'd be referred to as a "palm strike"

Probably more so than head shots. Wrestling and throwing would probably be the most preferred tactics though. I can imagine a bareknuckle boxing match being pretty boring actually, especially a long, drawn-out one.

Even today, you get too drunks fighting in the street, how often do you see any body punching?

Not saying that fighters in the bare knuckle days were drunks. Well, not all of them anyway. Lol.

The grappling was an important element, but very much secondry to the punching.

Not sure why you'd take anything from how drunks fight. How often do you see any sort of technique?

It's funny that people think bareknuckle boxers didn't really punch, I've seen it several times from multiple people.

How do would gloved boxing came about if the bareknuckle boxers didn't punch? Why would they create boxing gloves to protect their hands when punching, if, without gloves, they weren't punching? And if punching in bareknuckle was impractical, why would they have sport based around punching bareknuckle?

It's like thinking people didn't get around by walking before they had shoes.
