Canelo body'd this dude in 11 and had mild struggles in the victory. If Benevidez is the boogeyman a lot of people like to think he is, what round does Benevidez need to finish him for it do not be considered a disappointing fight? I have no issue with Benevidez and he is an ok dude, but I just never believe the hype of any "boogeyman" facade. Like if it takes him 9 rounds to do it, and Canelo is apparently overrated did it in 11... then that to me says Benevidez isn't a boogeyman. If he blasts him in 3, then ok. Either way I am interested to see how he wins this one. I give Caleb no chance in this one but it will be interesting.
I think he will struggle like he did against Gavril and wouldn’t be surprised he loses. Plant is as slick as they come.
He just has to win, its a closer fight than people think. He's fighting someone that is actually his same height and isn't a stationary punching bag with no lateral movement
I doubt he looks great. Plant will be careful and avoid a lot of punishment, may even tee off for a good amount of time with his quick one two’s. I think Benavidez’s physicality will eventually be too much for Plant in the end though.
Will go to a decision, Benevidez looks horrible, like an old man, and Canelo immediately signs him for his next opponent.
He simply needs to land a lot more than Canelo did, Plant looked okay against Canelo until getting caught, he was always taking the odd hook or too very well until the end, Benitez has to do the damage earlier than Canelo to prove he`s a better finisher and a more accurate puncher.
Funny how this boogeyman stuff starts sometimes. Everyone is only going by the eye test on him cause nothing about his record or the names on his record equal him being some beast. But I’ll be rooting for him though. Him and Canelo needs to happen. He doesn’t need to win quickly against Plant, he just needs to dominate, a la Margo/Cotto. I think that would be more impressive than an early ko. What happens if Plant wins/ko’s David though?
It's going to be a close fight in the first 6 rounds. Plant is a good fighter and he's got good boxing skills & movement. He will give Benevidez a good fight. I think Benevidez will break him down and start coming on in the late rounds. I see a TKO win in rounds 9 to 12. A decision win is likely as well.
