Mediocre is a bit harsh. True, there is no Sugar Ray or Evander Holyfield, but the top 15 or 20 around 168 are all very well-matched and will provide a lot of interesting fights the next couple years.
Yeah. I just hope Kessler can somehow get back in the mix. He's just hurting himself and his legacy by staying inactive and just fighting tomato cans. As things stand I have to have Froch at the top of 168 for being willing to fight top fighters. Part of me wants him to give JT a rematch, but the other part wants to see some ****ing unification. It's about time with a division as strong as this one...
I agree, people have Kessler at the top because he gave Calzaghe a run, but i got to put Froch there also, it's questionable if Kessler's one two can beat Froch, who probably hits harder than anybody he has faced!
I dont think that super middle is that deep right now. Zuniga is a limited but tough journeyman,Berrio a puncher with no skills at all,Manfredo an American club fighter,Dirrel still an unproven and untested rookie, same for Ward,Pascal is no top fighter at all,Inkin is off the radar,Froch is certainly no new long reigning champ,Green is past his prime, and so on. There are other far more interesting weight divisions out there.Cruiser weight for example is deeper full with good vet, rising talents, and promising young guns.
