Of course Geale has a better resume, few have a problem fighting him. So he's taking the higher payout in Mundine instead of a fight that would be between two of the top rated middleweights - on any world ranking system - so be it. If Gennady wanted to be a sellable option he'd move his fights to the United States, work with HBO, make a serious attempt at learning a third language, and tweak his style for the worse to be even more offensive oriented and appealing. He should really get on that. atsch There's difference between annointing a guy the second coming of Christ and flat out just being real. He's already got far more detractors than fanboys, that's for certain.
How much money did Murray, Barker and Dziniziruk bring to the table ? You're making a fool of yourself by claiming GGG isn't a dangerous fighter.
People insist on playing stupid. The guy isn't really serious about getting the big fights or else he'd do what I outlined in the post above. :verysad
Lee is fighting an easy comeback fight here in a couple of weeks on the Frampton undercard. Lee is basing himself on this side of the water now thyat Manny has passed on.
:yep:yep That apparently isn't even enough for these people as he isn't big enough of a name to deserve a fight with the great Martinez and other Sturms.
He needs to beat a top 7 middleweight to fight a top 7 middleweight yet he is a top 7 middleweight. He has no resume and needs to beat somebody, but he doesn't bring any money to the table to fight somebody to be somebody. :nut :rofl
Nor is Golovkin responsible for it falling through. I have no problem with Geale making a few more bucks and avenging Mundine back home -- just don't point the finger. I'm hopeful that after that's settled they can get something done but then he's conveniently got the winner of the Soliman/Sturm IBF eliminator.
**** if I had the patience to go through a year and half of posts I would dig up a thread I made predicting this. just take my word on it. i called it. boom
Its ****ing garbage right now. There are three good fighters and all of them would combine for a 0 - 6 record against Old man Hopkins if he could still make weight.
I think the division is good to very good, but not great, we tend to use the term great too loosely and this does a disservice to genuine great eras. Things are interesting though, lots to pan out here, you have an ageing champ, a developing champ, a technically proficient one and some rising newcomers, Geale can't be underesimated, he has met every challenge including the impossible of claiming two titles from Germans in Germany, he reminds me in many ways of Calzaghe, gets the job done by stealing rounds with workrate.
Its a solid division. Far from the best though. But i think this division has the fights that could be made quicker then others (140,147,154) cause of its willing combatants. Well, aside from Sergio who is still chasing big money fights (Floyd, Manny, Canelo).
You say Sergio is unwilling yet he's fought and beat 2 of the fighters there whilst the rest have never faced each other.
