    ?

A lot of non-boxing fans would say it's an extremely dangerous and violent sport, but in YOUR honest and unbiased opinion as a boxing fan, just how dangerous is it when it comes to risk of injury or perhaps death?

It's very risky, and stupid, but I can't help loving it. If I didn't box I'd be overweight and unhappy with myself, instead I'm extremly fit and at risk of brain damage, I don't know if it's a fair trade off.

If you are not prepeared physically and mentally 100% when you enter the ring then you may not walk out of it. It's very serious.

It depends what kind of boxing you're talking about. Amateur or professional? Amateur boxing is probably not as dangerous as the other contact sports. For example, I've heard about far more serious high school football injuries and even deaths than I have about amateur boxing injuries. Remember, amateur boxers wear headgear and only fight three 2 minute rounds. Professional boxing, on the other hand, is a completely different, highly dangerous sport. Not only is there no headgear, longer, and many more rounds, but, oftentimes the ultimate goal is different. Most amateur boxers, even the best, don't try to knock their opponents out...they go for a points win. For professional boxers the aim is almost always to take the other guy out.

it also allows individuals with an antisocial side to their personalities express it in a positive way... for example i dont believe mike tyson would've been successful in any other sport except for boxing, and if boxing didn't exist he would've ended up in prison (oh wait...)

There are countless interviews with boxers I've watched where they're punch drunk, almost all fighers leave the sport with their faces re-arranged, I've watched a few fights where boxers have been permanantly disabled, I'd say it's very dangerous.

I mean, it's two men at the peak of physical condition trying to beat each oth into unconsciousness. Of course it's dangerous.
