Race my arse. Frank Bruno was loved by everybody, Why because he was humble and didn't talk ****, We continued to love through countless failed attempt's at winning a World Title because he was Humble and didn't talk above his station.
Nigel Benn got quite a bit of love as well, while Eubank got it tight because he was a tosser (Not from me though as i was a fan of his boxing).
Khan and Degale are a pair of prize muppets that's why their booed it's got nothing to do with the colour of their skin.

A change in their arrogant attitudes would go a long way to winning over the British public, It doesn't matter what colour your skin is, if you deliver on your promises without sounding like a complete dick then you will get the respect you rightfully deserve whether you are black, white, Asian or whatever.

It is pathetic, I was so sick of many of Khans fans and the hype that I found myself wanting him to lose to shut them all up. But the level of hatred he gets from some people is ridiculous.
It is totally over the top as is the booing of Degale. It makes me want them to both do well, because the level of animosity is totally unreasonable.

    Sadly sheikh, not always true.
He was jeered, admittedly for his dismal performance, against the Spaniard in his last contest and never fought again.

But the anti Khan brigade are pathetic. Of course Barrera was a brilliant piece of matchmaking. But we say that with hindsight. Serious money with the bookies and on the exchanges on Barrera in the last 24 hours pre fight, so many thought he would win - including a good few in the game. What Amir produced, albeit against an old and faded fighter, was excellent. Remember Cassius Clay against Archie Moore ..... dig out the tapes....

Amir has talent, but is flawed - and floored. You could easily have said the same of Naz. Remember Kevin Kelley? The weak chin coupled with the athleticism and handspeed is why Amir will remain massive box office. And remember Eubank had the boo boys, but laughed all the way to the bank.

I very much doubt Amir will be put anywhere near Marquez in the forseeable. Matchmaking is timing, and Amir does not need him. For all the obvious reasons.

In the final analysis, whether they boo or cheer, they are buying tickets, which is what counts. But Amir is a nice kid, doing his best, with the world's best trainer.

Unfortunately, there is a worrying Islamaphobia in this country, and the booing of one of our best young sportsmen is perhaps symptematic of a dangerous malaise.

There sadness for me in seeing Barrera beaten like that. He was unquestionably one of the very best fighters we have seen in the last 20 years. Whether through ego, greed or a delusional belief that they can stop the ageing process, they almost all take one too many. Barrera, in the end, was just another.

Naz used to get booed all the time as did Eubank,Audley started getting booed after a few fights.Amir should not worry about it he is making good money and people are going to his fights which is what a boxer wants.I dont like to see any fighter get booed. The worst was when Sprott beat Audley.Yes the guy can be a world class pain in the arse but he got in the ring fought and got badly koed.He was booed in to the ring which is bad enough but when he was booed on his exit it was just disrespectful and unfair.
