How shocked were you when Marquez knocked down Pac for the first time?

Pac makes that same mistake pulling back like that Floyd would have knocked him out to, I didnt notice it until Marquez score that first knock down then I watched the entire series and Manny does the same **** over and over.

Floyd would have had his way with him period, if Juan was a little closer in that gif there Manny would have tasted the canvas in fight one

A stylistic strength Marquez has is playing counter-puncher by circling, then suddenly rushing forward to surprise his opponent, with a feint or with a punch. A common weakness pressure-fighters have is violating the rule of stepping backwards with your front foot first instead of your back foot. Here, Marquez surprised Manny and Manny stepped back the wrong way, squaring up and screwing up his balance and allowing the punch to land in a more damaging fashion without his body in line to absorb the force. I don't really see Floyd using the same tactics, or KOing him in the same fashion.

ahhh but there is one thing your leaving out, Manny is not a true southpaw its by choice he is actually right handed, which leads him to make mistakes in there in regards to his footwork.
if you look at those gifs he is pulling back and stepping to his left, he is stepping into the right hand, Southpaws are taught to move away from that right hand step over to the right.
Pacquiao doesnt do that very well which is how we always see his right foot getting caught up with Marquezs left foot its as if you see him reminding himself in there.

Manny usually circles to his own right on the offensive, it's how he sets up the left hand. He often circles to make room so that when he throws, he can step rightward with the punches. It's only when JMM feints and surprises him that his front foot moves back first incorrectly.

Mikey Garcia just did the same exact thing to Salido. Salido was coming forward as he usually does, and Garcia suddenly jumped forward, causing Salido to pause and step backward incorrectly in surprise, squaring up and eating that left hook.

I know he does it to try and sneak in that left hand, but its not only when he tries to sneak that shot in for some reason he strays over to that side which leaves him squared up to get hit it takes away the South Paw advantage

I was getting worried with those clean lefts Pacquiao was landing. Was finally getting confidence with those body shots Marquez was digging in during the 3 round then BAM. Loaded up, perfect punch while Pacquiao was backing up. I went nuts, came out of left field. Great great punch.

Great point. Also Pacquiao seemed to be guessing a body shot or straight right and moved his hand to try and block it but guessed completely wrong in the exchange. Genius of Marquez to land body shots at the beginning of the round to set that punch up.

A bit shocked but more happy to see Marquez put manny down.

What impresses me is how he's able to go from outboxing manny to KTFO manny. He executed strategies on the opposite end of the spectrum

Not even Marquez could believe that first knockdown.

That was the knockdown that convinced me he was on steroids, the eventual KO didn't even bother me

What the ****? Manny pulled back with his hands down and ate a clean right hand are you ****ing kidding me?

look it is what it is, Boxing, elite level, if you make the mistake of leaving your hands down by any elite fighter you are going to get knocked down if not knocked out on this level you can not afford to make those kinds of mistakes

The **** out of here with that I knew he was on steroids ****

Manny is invincible. He could drop his hands and take clean shots like Mayorga and laugh it off. It was obviously roids
