How Should and How Will Garcia Fight Lucas?

Ive had matthysse to win from way before...comparing their respective judah fights does give some insight. For example judah said matthysse hardest puncher hes ever faced and also the fact judah rocked and hurt garcia but did not really have matthysse hurt despite catching him clean a few ties.

Garcia showed in the judah fight he can make the straight right an effective punch... And he will do well usingthe straight right rather than hs loopier shots.

Both these guys bang to the body and both seem to cut a lot of weight to make 140. Garcia was fading badly against an old worn judah in hs ast fight when in the championship rounds.

I still am favouring matthysse but will make a more informed decision closer to the fight after seeing their buildups and respective positions/attitude bevore the fight. One thing s for sure lucas can be knocked out like any man, and if he gets over confident and in love with hs own hype and power - garcia will win. But i think if he fight hard but is aware enough to know garcia will try punch with him and also target hs body - i think matthysse has the bigger arsenal and will ultimately come out on top

 

Why? What makes garcia slicker than lucas? Lucas has fought better guys, hes knocked every single opponent down.. lucas has never been hurt danny has, lucas has better power than danny. All roads lead to a lucas win.

Danny was getting busted up by khan before the ko, he only just beat an old faded morales, he struggles to a SD against theophane.. i dnt care what any says, lucas is 34-0 he got cheated twice by hometown decisions and learnt from his mistakes of starting late.. he'l go after danny from the off and ko him early

 

Lucas lost a close decision to Zab. There was no "cheating" in that fight, no matter how much it upsets you that your hero lost.

he lost to judah...danny beat judah.

he lost to alexander...those were two legit losses. no robbery.

soto is no morales. danny retired him.

mike dallas and peterson weren't exactly world beaters.

danny destroyed khan just like i said he would.

matthysse has never been in with anyone that can punch like danny. mattheysse is physically smaller. his punches are wide and slow in comparison to khan and judahs.

all the guys that matthysse has shined against have horrible defense or sit on the front foot and keep their heads in the strike zone.

my prediction is that everyone will jump off the bandwagon when danny ko's this kid.

 

I happen to think Matthysse has an excellent shot at winning this.


But I think the smart money is on Garcia, mainly because of their results against the style of fighters they've fought against.

 

as for the khan/garcia fight that everyone seems to mention...khan landed some punches against danny early...but nothing that did any real damage. danny was getting his as well...zeroing in on his counters which he was landing from the very beginning. hbo's spin was in full effect on that fight. the numbers were off on punch**** too. they gave danny credit with landing 6 of 48 when i counted 18 right hands alone in the first round! he landed a few jabs too. khan was definitely flashier...but not more effective. for every 4 flashy punches khan threw danny would land 1 or 2 solid. don't sleep. he can crack.

 

Stopped reading there the Alexander fight wasnt even close, and if you still think Matthysse fights the same as them 2 then your a bit of a dumbass

That doesn't make any sense. As several have mentioned already, Danny likes to stand his ground and counter(Kessler) as opposed to slipping and countering(Trinidad). This means that he's ok with absorbing the impact of the punch if that'll create an opening for his own heavier shot. No disrespect to Zab but I'm not sure if that's a good idea against a puncher like Matthysse.

 

Everyone knows that Matthysse beat the crap out of Judah. He had Judah drunk and Alexander, but those fights were in their home towns with their personal judges and referee, that's why Matthysse decided to knock everyone out!!! Al Berstein had Matthysse winning, not to mention the huge majority of fans.....................if there is ever a rematch, Matthysse by knockout!!!

 

garcia must utilize his hand speed. matthysse is fast himself, but garcia must counter him just like he did to khan, who is/was really fast. yes, it took garcia 4 rounds to check khan.. but is that supposed to be a bad thing or something? i still rank it khan > peterson.

matthysse will have to back off that peterson type effort a bit, or he'll get dropped in the second round. the left hook is coming.. and the right hand after it

 

Matthysse's punches are shorter than Garcia's, he is quicker, if Garcia decides to trade left hooks with Matthysse he will get knocked out. Matthysse's left hook with get there first. Matthysse has a better chin and much better stamina. He can go full force for 12 full rounds, Garcia faded in the Juda fight. Garcia will try to box Matthysse and find an opening to land his best punch, but if he does it will not bother Matthysse. Matthysse is the harder puncher by far.
