With the recent developments in regards to Luxembourg and the BBBofC etc and the potential splintering of the licensing scene, how would you propose to avoid alphabet chaos in the UK ? In the hierarchy of boxing, where does this new standard fit: Two fellas agreeing to a fight outside a pub Two guys agreeing to a fight in a ring (i.e. white collar, exhibition) Two fighters being paid to fight in a ring (i.e. "unlicensed" boxing as of last week) Two licensed BBBofC fighters being paid to fight in a ring Is the BBBofC a necessary organisation, upholding the tradition of the Lonsdale belt, looking after the interests of fighters etc, or just a bunch of fatcats like every other alphabet body, looking to scrape something of the top?
A very simple fix would be from a department of the Government take it under their responsibilty to enforce the BBBC rules. In other words the BBBC becomes part of the Govt. and all powers which come with it.Law of the land.:deal
I agree in principle but they did that in Canada and the results were disastrous - now there are only a handful of pro shows per year.
What's the status of a non-licensed event in Canada then? Is it actually outlawed without government backing ?
i htink the board should take this as a warning to sort themselves out, listen to members/licence holders and most importantly fans, stop with corrupt bull**** (stoppages/decisions etx) and clear out deadwood. then we can go back to the status quo in an ideal world :good if they ran their business well they could have a monopoly, they havent and they dont have one, simple as that
