How can Eddie get his man to a world title?? For me I would take a 10 rounder agaisnt a decent level opperator before moving in to fight Proksa for the European title. Proksa is undefeated, promoted by Matchroom and is in the top 10 with every governing body. If Barker wins that he will be in a great position for the 2nd half of the year.
I'd go with a ten rounder then look to get straight back in. Winning the European isn't really necessary for him, he doesn't need a bargaining tool. He's already got that due to his better than expected showing against Sergio.
This almost happened before he fought Martinez but after putting up a good fight there Arum wont risk Jr. In fact I'm not even sure Chavez beats Manfredo.
i'd go after Geales straight away, no need for confidence builders, he put a good show on against Martinez and I don't think the defeat will affect him mentally. if he has to wait I would go for someone like Spinks or Mora, a name who he can beat and use to push his marketability up. if either macklin or Barker get a title or best case scenario both then they can have a big fight end of next year or early 2013. hell even if they both lose in title fights they can have a big fight over here
He wouldn't knock out Sturm and he wouldn't get the decision. I'd take Pirog to beat him. He should target Daniel Geale.
No, i wouldn't go near Proksa. Too tricky a fight and there is an easier route to a world title. Geale. I don't know what Barker's ranking is with the IBF but if he is in the top 14, then Hearn should be making Geale an offer to come over and they would get him over handy i think. There is no mandatory for the IBF yet, the number 1 spot is vacant and an eliminator is to happen shortly i think so Geale can take a voluntary defence. Geale is good but very beatable. I don't think Matchroom have signed Proksa up to be an opponent for anybody. He has his own title aspirations.
Geale is technically good but he does nothing to blow you away. He is a very light puncher. His thing is workrate really. Id be confident Barker would beat him.
Go for Murray, who will probably lose to Sturm and then go for Macklin, who will probably lose to Martinez. Will judge him after that.
But if he can get Geale straight away, does it make sense to go for either of them ? He wasn't beaten to a pulp against Martinez, the best MW in the world. He put up a good showing and his confidence wouldn't have taken that much of a hit.
