With all due respect a good percentage of the shots landed by Brook were not at all welcomed with warm arms by GGG face, sorry I just can't fully co-sign that theory.

I do agree GGG decided he could not and should not concern himself with attempting to outbox a high level operator and just mow the guy over because of his natural physical advantage. GGG was never in danger of getting stopped but to say Brook had no effect is a bit radical. GGG prepped his mind and body with the understanding that he will get tagged yes, he will walk through some well placed shots that will pause his forward progress yes, he will ultimately weather the storm and get a TKO because he's fighting a blown up WW that too is a yes.

As for Jacobs.....he'll eventually be stopped unless he uses his speed and dexterity advantages to perfection. Other than being slightly more agile and quick Jacobs doesn't have many advantages here and yes Jacobs does have above average pop...more than Brook however not as sharp. I doubt GGG allows Danny to land at will just to get to his questionable chin but hey you never know.

I'm not sure if Jacobs will sit in the pocket long enough for that to happen, it can certainly happen but Jacobs has to be durable enough, mentally and physically, to know something hard is coming back. Its sorta like a star slot receiver dropping a great pass for a first down simply because he see's the other teams safety out the corner of his eye headed at him like a mack truck.

GG knows that he's in a fight and Jacobs does too. One mistake and GG might be out of there.

Golovkin has been hit many times on the chin and has never even wobbled badly that alone shows you how solid his chin is never down in 400 fights that astonishing given elite fighters have been down before by gatekeepers and some knocked out.

ok so if the canelo fight happens who you think wins? i presume you think this fight would be a tough fight for GGG? since you think so lowly of him?

It's hard to make a decisive pick because Golovkin's attributes remain to be unknown because he was simply never tested to prove any of them. However, I'll be going with Alvarez by UD.

Surprisingly enough Charlo's last fight made him an interesting candidate for GGG if in fact he does move up to MW. The guy is huge for JMW Canelo would never fight him and he seems to have good skills and timing with his attack and good whiskers. I'd still give GGG the edge but a mid 30's version of GGG vs a hungry motivated guy like Charlo would make for a good show.

People talk about Lemiuex and Stevens landing clean and think that because they're big punchers, every punch they throw has mustard on it. They may have landed clean but probably didn't put much on those punches because they had already been hurt by Golovkin.

I'd love to see that fight too. Whether against Alvarez or Golovkin wouldn't matter to me, it will still be worth tuning in for.

Here's how I saw Golovkin vs Brook; Golovkin tried to box early but lost that battle so decided to use his size advantage.

No Golovkin did not respect anything about brook and just fought crazy watch fights with stevens and lemeuix he did not fight like that because those guys have power he still walked them down but not recklessly like he did against brook.

Of course I will. They hype surrounding Golovkin prior to the fight forces literally everyone reasonable to give Alvarez credit. However, those that follow the sport closely will know that Golovkin was nothing but a hype job anyway. It's the same scenario with Mosley vs Margarito. Mosley gets credit for that win to this very day. However, those that followed closely know that Margarito was nothing but a cheating hype job with zero skills.

Not a bad interpretation at all, extremely reasonable....I don't understand why its so controversial on these boards to mention the fact that GGG was outboxed for portions of the fight.

You're entitled to that opinion, however, actually being in that ring and looking at his involuntary reactions and comparing them to videos ive seen of myself sparring as well as other gym mates tells me otherwise. I find it absolutely amusing when fans are so sure of what a fighter was thinking and feeling in the ring when they have no legitimate clue as to why I just stated you're entitled to that opinion based on your apperception and I'm entitled to mine.
