Right, he abandoned his boxing after round or 2. When they boxed, Brook won.

Never said he stands no chance so please don't put words in my mouth. Just said he's a hype job who's unproven because all of his opponents were carefully selected to make him look good. I simply don't know how good he really is until he's tested. He could either prove me wrong or right.

Same here. There was no real need for Golovkin to box. Pounding would do the trick.

Iv heard it all now, ggg is a hype job, great amateur world champion and now hold 3 our of 4 major belts and has everyone running from him, but he's a hypejob lol

Of he was a hypejob everyone would be looking to fight hi. And Jacobs wouldn't be looking for retirement money to face him

This is really exactly right. We have not seen him up against a large enough, fast enough, skilled enough fighter yet. I have posted that I do not see any particular reason to discount Jacobs in this fight and I still don't. Maybe Golovkin is all that people think. Maybe not. I believe he will win this, but not necessarily quickly or easily.

ONE NOTE- Using his performance against Brook as a way to judge him is difficult for me because Golovkin looked pale and sick- and fought that way- during that fight.

I think the man who beats GGG - and that's not likely to be Jacobs - will be the man who manages to consistently push GGG back, he's a fighter who only feels comfortable when taking the fight to opponents. He will need good strength more than power (although enough to dissuade) and a chin that can take hard shots, but that's obvious. There's little doubt GGG's amazing power would be diminished somewhat if he was made to fight off the back foot and Brook showed how easy he is to tag when he's not allowed to constantly move forward and dictate the range- albeit Kell only managed this for a round and had to box at 110% to do this.

In short, I feel it's only when he steps up to 168, where his power will be slightly less effective, fighters will be stronger naturally and opponents more used to taking hard shots, that this blueprint could be employed long enough to make a difference. No one at 160 can do this. Certainly not Jacobs, but he will be GGG's biggest test and I don't think he'll freeze like some have done.

Yeah, you clowns have been living off this "he's a mandatory!!" nonsense for a while now. What has he done again to become his mandatory?. Better yet, what has any of Golovkin's last 5 opponents do to be considered mandatory?.

He looked normal to me against Brook. Only difference is, he fought someone with decent ability who had no shot in the long run due to weight. If he looked bad then he did because of Brook and I wasn't surprised to see him literally chase head first and take punches like they were pancakes in the process.

Clearly you ought to be working for the world bodies then.

Also anybody who thinks he is "cherrypicking" by getting a fight with Jacobs is a dribbling idiot and needs his head read. Jacobs is bad news for anybody at 160.

Brook fight is irrelevant, GGG won't fight him the way he fought Brook, it will be GGG from the Lemieux fight working behind his jab.

When he breaks cameltoe they will have to concede GGG is the man and canelhoe was the hype job with no real amateur pedigree and is prepared to hand over his titles in a heart beat
Can the same be said for GGG
To men cut from very different cloth

I don't need to be working for the world bodies to know that mandatory defenses have been flawed for a very long time. How can you justify his fight with Monroe Jr.?, the man was literally coming off 10 and 8 round fights.

Oh, Jacobs is serious business alright. That's why Golovkin is already opening up as a 1/8 favorite. You need your entire head replaced.
