That's what I'm watching it on...HBO on demand. Looking at it, it seems in parts that Pac does the same exact things, and fights in the same exact way back then as he does now. I agree when people talk about how much he has improved over the last 6 years or so, but his improvements may be a lot more subtle than some people make it out to be...

His right hand is better as is his head movement and overall defense as well as the individual strategies he implements in various fights

He has no skills. Wins all his fights by cheating or luck or both.

He's skilled, but not nearly as much as many make him out to be, especially those harping on about how vastly improved he's become as a fighter. He's still predominately a physical marvel, albeit one that's managed to hone his skills to fit those abilities.

Incredibly skills - speed, power, movement and weird angles is a lethal combination.

But his defence could be better but I guess that's the trade-off for the above. Since he gets into fighters' faces sometimes,I wish he could land more upper cuts.

Apart from that, almost as good as me.

In some of his sparring sessions, he looks a lot more "skilled" in that he takes less punishment and does some great move-counters.

    I won't say exceptionally skilled . . . just highly skilled.

To be able to breakdown opponents systematically and consistently means the fighter's skills should be above average.

you have to be skilled to out box oscar with barely using a jab. watching the difference in morales 2 to 3 is amazing. From forward fighting and sometimes countering to countering every move morales made. I would say he progress faster then anyone later in his career and still making improvments. I also think nonito, floyd, and many others at 28 is more of a complete fighter then when pac was 28. However, Pac is still improving where others have stopped progressing in skill at around 28.

i think he is highly skilled ...

its just hard for us to see his "skills" when its his glaring "talent" we see most of the time ,furthermore, his unorthodox style does not help build his case as well

but to be able to beat and hang w/ the fighters in his resume... that has got to be one pretty skilled fighter right there

Of course he's exceptionally skilled. You don't get to the level he's at without having skills. Of course he's a great athlete, but so is Zab Judah.

It takes more than a high degree of athleticism to be great.

He very skilled, but if he's not one of those type of boxers that'd be real efficient if his athleticism decreases a lot

He is severely underrated in the skill department.

People have come to overhype defensive skills like Floyd's and not appreciate offensive skills and courage as much. Since Roy Jones, the measure seems to be to get hit as little as possible and "dominate" your opponents by pot-shotting.

Manny is still old-school, where a knockout isn't something that will come or not, but a knockout is something you go out and pursue. Of course, being offensive like that will get you hit more. But there used to be a time when the ability to take a punch was regarded highly as well.
