How smart or stupid are David Haye and Adam Booth for ducking the Klitschkos ?

They are the double act we all love to hate.............smug smart clever asses..........

    David Haye and Adam Booth.

Haye has known to kid weight making troubles to bag himself a big money fight with Maccarinelli.

And Adam Booth always has that look on his face he knows something you dont.

Its fair to say - these guys are smug all over.

They think they are ever so clever.

Clearly they have some intellgience..........it looks like they know Vitali and Wlad are fights that Haye is likely to lose.

Its clear haye and Booth have made the decsion to duck the Klitschkos for now.

But how smart or stupid are they really ?

Haye and Booths plan seems to be to milk the WBA title with a defence maybe once every 6 months. Against a opponnet they are likely to beat.
Nice paydays are picked up and in between fights he markets himself as World Heavyweight Champ and makes money outside the ring. He will leave Wlad and Vitali get older and slower - before possibly facing one of them as his last fight. Might seem like a smart money making plan. But it could go wrong - if he messes up and loses to a Audely Harrison or someone else - his status and his payday against the Klitsckos goes up in smoke. And in a way - for being such a ducking **** - I hope Audely knocks him out and gets to fight the Klitschkos instead.

The other opition - is - why dosent Haye just gun for the Klitschkos now - mega payday - win or lose - if he lost - at least he lost to the best - thats alot more credit than risking losing to a Audely Harrison, etc. And if he does happen to win - that would make him a mega star - he could then marklet himself as a undisputed champ and make mega bucks.

So basically - it might seem like Haye is being smart ducking the Klitschkos from a business sense.

But with Hayes limited heavyweight shelf life - why not cash in now and gun for glory - before he loses to someone else ? :think

    Smart but frustrating as hell.

Haye called them out for pure self promotion purposes, fair enough. But if he was pissed at the shitty deals then he should have said from day 1 "This is what they're offering, I won't fight for that".

However since we know he's only going to fight up to his 31st birthday I believe it's all a ploy. Harrison is the only other big money fight out there... maybe Adamek. I think he's wanting the bigger slice of the pie, which from a 'who brings what to the table' pov he may havd a point.
I truly believe the last 2 fights he has will be Vitali then Wlad due to the huge risks involved.

I wish he had the Tyson mentality.

I honestly don't think that age thing is set in stone. A lot of boxers set and age limit and the vast majority fight beyond it.

    I agree.

But regardless of wether Haye fights on past 31 or not he has got a limited shelf life at heavyweight.

True but the mans vanity is unparalleled in boxing. Add to this his injury problems plus all this boxing is getting in the way of his modelling career.

I'm sure that'll be a concern when his modelling career makes him £7 million per year....;)

True, but I believe Haye when he says he will retire when he hits 31 (did I just say that?). It's just that he's not very active anyway, has already achieved his dream of winning a world title and doesn't seem to have the hunger anymore. Maybe I'm wrong but I think he'll stick to his word for once.

as for the OP's question, speaking from a business perspective, it's a smart move. I suppose you could say it's a risk fighting the likes of Harrison beause he has a dodgy chin and could get knocked out, but the risk is small, and he'll still make a lot of paper fighting Harrison. Not as much as he would make fighting a Klitschko, but still a lot, so it's a small risk. Of course he's had to sacrifice certain things in order to be a good businessman, such as his number one fan-robpalmer, his legacy, respect from boxing fans, etc.

If Haye retired without fighting a Klitschko and still said he achieved his "dream"of being World Heavyweight Champ - that that would be a very dilluted watered down dream.

Haye claimed his mission was to clean up - and follow in the footsteps of Lennox Lewis.

It seems now Haye has compromised on that dream and to me winning the WBA title was just something to bring to the bargaining table for a Klitschko fight. But it seems now Haye just wants to make a whole career out of that WBA title.

The last point - I highlighted - is the old dilema that every man must choose at some point in his life.

    Morals or money.

The less morals you got - the easier money you can make.

But Haye made out that he was a man of morals and he was anything but.

It upset Rob Palmer because he is a bit young and fresh - and really believed what Haye was saying.

It failed to upset GazOC - because he is old school - he's been around the block a few times - and he knew how boxers / businessmen operate and knoew Haye was just talking **** - and would revert to what all boxers do - min risk / max reward.

They may be smart but the sad part is they continue to feed us lies and bull**** just so they can keep minting money. Good for them, bad for us.

    He also got no morals.

He would proably work as a rent boy if it paid enough.

Thats how much he loves easy money.

he'd bite the pillow for a big payday.
