How soon do you think that Juan Diaz should move up to 140?

Why are people incapable of discussing things like adults on this forum?

Does Hatton throw punches, yes or no? You may not like his style, but by staying inside and nullifing his opponents he's doing nothing wrong as long as he breaks when asked.

I think there has to be a balance between division hopping and making defences.

Floyd Mayweather moved up in weight because he struggled to get down to the weight limit, fair enough IMO.

Ricky Hatton moved up in weight to try to beat the best P4P in the world, despite being able to make 140 easily - moving up for a challenge is fair enough, provided it is not too regular.

Juan Diaz would be moving up to 140 for the sake of it really. Only big fight at 140 would be Hatton, whilst there are plenty of decent (though not as big) fights for Diaz at 135, with Pac Man likely to move up in the near future, so may as well stay put.

The only thing we don't want to see is a guy making endless, meaningless defences of a strap rather than taking on bigger challenges or unifying belts. The name Joe Calzaghe springs to mind!

Why should he move up? He's not even an average sized LW, he's shorter than average. And he doesn't look like ripped, so I don't think that he has any weight problems. So the plus 5 pounds and the bigger enemies would mean major disadvantage for him, who's a volume puncher and doesn't have the one punch power.

He shouldn’t move up. Katsidis, Casamayor, Khan and Peterson are already there, Pacquiao and Guzman are moving up in no time and it looks like that Gamboa is more comfortable at SFW/LW than at FW.

Juan Diaz carries more fat than your average elite fighter. I think he he sheds that fat he can stay at LW longer. Not sure if his built for WW.

The only bigger fioght for him would be vs. Hatton. He's fine @ 135 for now. He's taking care of anyone who calls themself a champ, like a real champ does.

I'd like to see Diaz move up to 140 after he establishes a legacy at 135. Of course, that is no guarantee.

Which may take a while...he's the one fighter who doesnt need to move up for quite a while if ever....his body type does'nt neccesitate it so why not keep going in a deeper division??

Juan Diaz is still young, he is just 24 . . . so I say unify all belts at 135 and establish his legacy first before planning of moving up.

If he is not having problem with the weight why go up? There are still a lot of good fights at 135 IMO.
