How soon will Dubios get a title shot if he loses to Parker?

Every boxer needs Dubios' promoters. Gets him fights he has no business being in, didn't earn, can even get him favorable officiating. Anyways, let's say Parker pulls it off again and earns a SD or MD, how soon and who does Dubios have to fight before he's in another title fight?

I wouldn't be surprised if he was matched with someone on the level of Gassiev and then immediately put back in the ring with whoever the camp is after Usyk retires.

Immediate rematch. Nobody is talking about it because Frank Warren expects Dubois to win.

Dubois deserves to be where he is as well. He earned it by winning.

He goes back to the WBA Regular and fights Pulev lol. For real though its hard to tell in this current environment, meaning Saudi money, it would largely be up to who Turki wants to see.

He could be back in against the winner of Zhang vs Kabayel for the WBO Interim depending on how he looks, like how Zhang got the Wilder match after his loss to Parker.

The bigger question I think would be is how soon would Dubois be ready if he loses, this won't be like his other losses emotionally or mentally. He has so much more confidence and self belief now that a loss would hit him harder I reckon.

It's funny because his promoter was being accused of cashing out Dubois when he was put in against Hrgovic, then again when he was put in against AJ.

Dubois is on the form of his life.

Not sure if there is a rematch clause? If there is - I'd expect instantly for late summer.

No rematch clause? Parker will fight Usyk and Dubois will have to get back in line and queue behind Zhang/Kabayel and Bakole.

Dubious is Frank's AJ. They didn't expect him to lose to a journeyman like Joyce though, and get KO'd by Usyk, so he had a few setbacks early on. From this point he'll get the same type of opportunities, basically whenever they want a title shot or eliminator they'll get it and if they don't it's because they want to sit out and have easy fights for a while to 'rebuild'.

Does anyone seriously think there won't be a rematch clause?

In this new environment rematch clauses are worth way less because if Turki doesn't want to see it, he won't pay for it and instead will offer one or both fighters a better payday to fight someone else.

Like the Parker Zhang rematch clause, Turki didn't want the rematch and gave Zhang the Wilder fight instead so Zhang never pursued it.

If he loses, let him fight Hrgovic again...

I'd like to see it, first fight was very competitive.

Hrgovic's stock has gone up considering Dubois's results and performances since.

If Hrgovic tweaks a few things he can win the rematch

    Nah, he's just learning.

    He's 27.

It's easy to forget just how young he is (for a legit contender) because he's been around a while now - but he's quite a bit younger than most of the prospects/something fighters people get excited about who have done far less than he has.
Jalolov? 30. Hrgovic? 32. Kabayel? 32. Bakole? 31. Frank Sanchez? 32... And Dubois has already achieved far more than these guys and doesn't get hyped any harder despite deserving it more.

It's not so much about form, it's more than he's getting closer to his prime and he's been in difficult enough fights that he's been learning.

I can't imagine there isn't a rematch clause. If Dubois loses, they (Dubois-Parker) may rematch mid-summer.

Hope it's a fun fight Saturday. Should be.;)

In fairness, Joyce was prime and at minimum a solid gatekeeper - realistically probably more like a fringe contender.

Dubois was 23, a highly rated prospect but he wasn't protected.

Anyone sane would've expected him to lose to Usyk.

And nobody expecting to win goes in having practiced lowblows.

Short of losing to someone he really, really shouldn't (and Parker is a challenge for him, and rightly highly ranked)...

Yea, he'll probably stay regarded at the top end of the division - and he'll get title shots from time to time.

And I don't mind that too much - I'd prefer it to guys who have no business whatsoever being near titles getting those fights instead.

Like it or not, there's a very real possibility that Dubois dominates the next era in the heavyweight division.
