How Spain saw Pacquiao vs Mayweather

Same people that watch "adult" videos in slow motion. You can pick out certain details that can't be seen in real time.

That's the whole point of boxing, you try to impress the judges.

 

I watch fights in real time. Like you're supposed to do.

 

That's the difference between English and Spanish. The Spaniols they like warriors hence why many Spenish colonized countries, Mexico, PR and Philippines like geurra, WAR! Not this run around the roses kind of fight.

 

Of course I watch fights in real time but I gain more insight watching it other ways. I catch things that I missed.

 

True, however I would think that those same boxing casuals wouldn't ever - even if they don't appreciate his style - suggest that FMJ looks like am amateur.

That's probably the most ridiculous comment I have ever heard by a commentator.....and I am a big Manny fan who was hoping he would beat FMJ (I accept he didn't. Maybe in his prim Cotto beating era, but that's another thread.)

 

Almost all American. 3 American judges too, probably. I had Mayweather winning but it's worth pointing it out.

No, he is a master boxer. I'm a Manny fan and was hoping he would win and put a beating on him, but I also know what I saw.
It was a competitive fight, but Floyd was too smart. Manny wasn't able to land. He was cagey and cautious, partly because he couldn't find the range as often as he usually does, and partly because he was getting regularly countered. Both of these were due to FMJ's work. It put him off going for his usual combo attacks, and by the later stages and last couple rounds he was getting hit with easy counters and simple jabs. He clearly ran out of ideas.
But it was by no means a one sided fight. Comfortable points win for FMJ with Manny getting some decent attacks in and the odd punch in the first half.

 

I love Manny's style, personality and his rise to the top from a hopeless slum is admirable and should be respected. But some of his fans, more so the guys on here that hate Mayweather more than they actually like Pacquiao, say some of the most ridiculous things. Everyday. It's a crazy obsession.

 

Your recollection of the fight is not accurate. Manny clearly won round 9 and 10. He also probably won round 12.

Manny didn't fight his best fight. Partially because he re-injured his right hand after round 4. Still, a lot of Floyd's offence wasn't as effective as the English and American commentators made out.

 

Sure, but Floyd fans are equally annoying. They cling on to him as their "favorite", but they don't really find him that fun to watch. The majority only care about being able to say that their fighter has that "0" and is the best. Then they go on about the "sweet science". But will call out boring defensive performances against guys they like.
