How Surprised Will You Be If Mayweather 'Pressures' and Cotto Tries to Stick-n-Move?

Would not be surprised at all. Floyd's pressure is different than someone like Margos but im sure he'll find a good way to apply it

Yeah man. Marquez still moves and boxes and hes damn near 40. Floyd doesn't drink or smoke and is very dedicated to being sharp and in shape. He may have lost a step but by no means are his legs "shot."

Aside from who is chasing him, how would it be any different that Cotto's other recent back peddling performances?

If you asked me this back in 07/08, then yeah, I'd be very surprised. In fact, I'd probably laugh at you like this old man:

But now, it's something you should kind of expect. Cotto's not the same monster he once was, and reacts even worse to taking punches. Mayweather, with his more stationary, walking-down approach, could make things difficult for him.

Floyd is gonna have to pressure Cotto, cause after eating a couple flush right hands please believe Cotto will get on his bicycle very early in the fight

I'm sure FMJ will do just that after he figures Cotto out.

What I'm more intrigued about is how Cotto will play it out while FMJ is still in the process of picking him apart slowly.

Cotto retreats its a known fact

i mean he became the boxer and mosley the brawler when they fought in a role reversal fight

    the same may happen here

plus i feel cotto has no chance toe to toe maybe moving and making Floyd possibly walk into shots or move so Floyd cant hit him a lot will keep it close

This will be a easy fight for Mayweather cause of their styles, Cotto simply doesn't have the reach to take him out of his comfort zone

It would be a bad idea for Mayweather to utilize that gameplan.

People should recognize that Cotto "retreating" out of hesitance is not the same as Cotto boxing laterally and controlling the center of the ring working off a jab. Nobody's tried to make Floyd reach and turn out of his measured come-forward pace and disrupt his rhythm with sudden aggressive combinations, and while Cotto won't ignore his ability to pressure, I think (and hope) he's preparing to take Floyd out of his element by having an answer to that plan.

If Cotto(e) tries that, we will really see how well Mayweather can cut a ring off. He showed skill at it against Mosley and Ortiz, but none of those guys had the stick to 'stick-n-move', so all they did was move. We don't know how far Floyd's ability to cut off the ring goes yet.
