He is clearly fundementally sound. But what makes him successful apart from just fundementals? Is his speed and power particularly special?

I think it’s a combination of his quick thinking, hand speed, good chin and fearlessness in there on top of his fundamentals.

We saw similar in the Triple G fights when he fought Saul as well. Which was a big reason he did so well against him. Especially the first two. Just not being afraid to fire back and keeping that pressure on him. But Bivol has faster hands imo.

I think Bivol will do better than many think against Beterbiev.

Bivol is just the flavour of the month. He's not much in the grand scheme.

He doesn't belong in the conversation for greatness, he would be clowned by many old school LHWs.

Yes he has quick hands. But i have never thought of him as particularly fast or powerful. So i am curious as to how others see him.

I think a commentator on his last fight (can't remember who) summed it up very well. As well as being fundamentally excellent he simply makes very very few mistakes.

His ability to create space and distance he wants to fight in. He uses his feet and jab to achieve that. Very good footwork coupled with an educated jab.

Agreed. Extremely top tier the guy’s fundamentals might be the best in the sport today. The only way he ever loses is by KO nobody is outboxing him.

Rock solid in every aspect. fundamentals galore. The tight high guard is something that can normally get exploited but not from Bivol who is drawing from you and watching which Usyk used to do as a big cruiser (not at HW) He's not exactly going to come up against someone who can out physical him by much. He's only half a step away at all times of being out of range.

When you're tall and can use your jab and all the basics are there then more often than not it's the opponent who has to bring something special to draw it out of you.

The majority of fighters above lower weight classes don't use their jab as much or effectively as they could...even if Canelo wanted and dedicated to his jab he was always going to fall short so he looks like crap and can't do anything...even the lesser smaller men like BJS, Floyd & even Plant makes Nelo look basic and one dimensional.

He has a good chance to beat Berterbiev but berter does bring physical aspects and is sneaky.

Bivol is a real G in boxing. There are only a few of them. Even Fury could be better because he's rarely fully engaged in a bout he is such a natural, Bivol will always come into a fight engaged and ready.

Also Bivol is a good looking untainted humble man of morals which goes a long way in boxing which at the highest level is just as much a spiritual mental war as it is a physical one. Fightings guys like Bivol, Fury & Usyk is like fighting Jesus Christ himself. Good friggin luck! Even when you pin them they'll still pop up and be right back into you.

Ask Canelo ROFL He absolutely took him to school, he embarrassed him, So much so even his friendly Vegas judges couldn't even give him a GGG like draw. But they made it look like a pretty close fight & not the lesson it really was. So now he wants to fight in Mexico now he was relying on them LOL

His discipline, ring generalship and sticking to a gameplan bump his fundamentals a notch higher. He isn't flashy but he is effective and is willing to engage, often dictating space.

So much to like about this guy.
