You know what, that is the part that is so frustrating ... he is a talent but ODH was such a stinking, slimey trickster with the officials & clauses , then the Reynosa' & the magic beef, carefully chosen ageing opposition makes you wonder how would he be without all the hedging...
Relative to Toney he's probably a 6.5/7. A prime focused Toney is probably the most talented fighter of all time.
Jesus Wept...... Well I see most of the circle jerk boys are back.... the usual suspects........ I scored an 8 .......................................................... ASSISTED WITH PEDS Which means he's a 6 without them. Evidence? Couldn't knock out career Euro level Welter Matthew Hatton. Made to look a simpleton against an elderly Floyd and unable to avvenge the loss. Got beat twice by GGG but paid off the judges Get's more "gifts" than a child at Christmas Cherry picks the weakest fighters and division Oh and did I mention he's had more super soldier serum than Captain America ie. PEDS He's very good but there is a large asterix.
There are greater talents and others who train at his level, but none of them have his ambition. They get a nice lifestyle and only have to face a couple competitive opponents their whole career, why bother with any more? I can't blame them because if they get brain damage fighting war after war I won't be changing their adult diapers, but as a fan I'm supporting those who do more than the minimum.
He’s very talented indeed. Not the most but man he’s definitely improved himself a lot over the years. Become an elite counter puncher, lethal at going to body, great head movement and improved his stamina but his only issue is his debate able work date so maybe he still has stamina worries internally. I’ll say this, he’s the most daring fighter atm in his Willingness to challenge himself via moving weights or fighting champions constantly. In 10 years people will talk about canelo and how we’re missing fighters with his mindset regardless of all the issues he’s had in the past
I think he is more gifted than de la Hoya was, especially has a better technique/ fundamentals. He is just not very fast, similar as Crawford and Ward (with more power than the last) but his timiing is excellent as of these, but he is more flat-footed.
