With no intention of disrespecting the legend, you are all forgetting what the rocky movies have done for the city of philidelphia in terms of tourismn and popularity. Ask any non-boxing fan and they're more likely to know where rocky is from than frazier. How many international tourists visit philly just to run up them stairs compared to those who visit to see where frazier trained out of? Tokyo has statues of godzilla, but that doesn't diminish the accomplishments of real people.

They are acknowledging his cultural significance to the mainstream people not his accomplishments as a "heavyweight boxer". You are creating a connection which does not exist. If you are going to attack rocky then you may as well attack any other statue or award given by the city which doesnt involve frazier

frazier whooped ali's ass when it mattered the whole nation was split with fight of the century. Good against evil the man who supported and had love for his country that had treated him well against the ungrateful racist and frazier won that battle and put him in his place was a beautiful moment

It's silly that a corny AZZ movie character like rocky gets a statue but Frazier does not. You want the fake ****? There it is.

whats up, did i miss the amazing james ellis of his amazing resume

i don't give a **** if he could beat david haye or not, that is just a pointless opinion with no fact behind it. the fact that you have to resort to that type of opinion as the best you can say for frazier just proves how weak his resume really is :deal

This shouldnt be about tourism, agriculture, geography, economics.

This is real personal stuff were talking about, it angers me that a rocky statue sits there while a REAL HUMAN BEING wakes up to see a fake fictional character preffered over him.

Those who watched, appreciated and remembered Joe Frazier will feel the same, and those who are ignorant and want fictional character should watch MMA or twilight
