Let me start off by saying I am a PRO Max and Jim guy....But seriously, WHAT THE **** WERE THEY TALKIN ABOUT?! Saying this fight might be just as good or better than Rios vs Alvarado? That fight was sloppy as ****, and if it werent for the guys going all out, it could have been an absolute corner snoozer.

Just had to vent...Jesus thats annoying

the only reason why i agree is because it was the dirtiest fight i ever seen in my life
rios and alverado was very much a clean respectful war

Well considering Guerrero Berto was more of a seesaw fight with it going back and forth i wasnt sure who was gonna take it and the fact that Guerrero was an underdog and with Berto picking himself off the canvas twice to come back and rally, there was more drama and expectations in this fight than Rios Alvarado imo

I agree, I was kinda scratching my head at the mere thought of it being FOTY.

I am not knocking the fight, or the fighters. They showed a lot of guts and walked through some hard shots and put it on the line yesterday, cant take anything away from that. Respect to them.

But no way is that fight even in my top 4 fights of the year, let alone my fight of the year.

I really loved that fight. But this is purely subjective and if some found the fight ugly its his opinion. I loved the shifts of momentum, the in fighting even the rough tactics. Guerrero showed unreal chin, Berto upercuts were a thing of beauty. The knock downs, eyes swelling and shutting down while the two fighters unleashed hell on each other. The 12 rounds lasting 3:10 minutes :)

possibly could be considered as a foty candidate, but it definitely wouldnt be the FOTY.

There were moments where it could be comparable to the rios/alvarado fight in some rounds that were serious give and take in the pocket... but those were a few rounds.

Why not compare to it? Who here thought it would be a great fight in the first place when this fight was actually signed? It was a great great fight. Sure it was dirty by both fighters hugging it out but both was throwing bombs after bombs especially berto who had both eyes swollen shut and guerrero left eye swollen shut but credit to guerrero more cause this is his second fight at ww and he took several bombs from berto especially from those nasty uppercuts but guerrero kept coming like those uppercuts was nothing. In the 12th round was a freaking war in which i dont think neither fighter in the last round actually clinch. It was dirty but it was exciting action pack slugfest. Rios vs Alvarado was awesome but so was this fight imo.

I think it is comparable. It had action, just not middle of the ring action or as clean punches as Rios vs. Alvarado. More technical even when Berto was on the ropes. And significantly is that Berto and Guerrero are better fighters than Rios and Alvarado. I don't think it was more sloppy, it was actually better defensively with some punches being smothered, the other fight was in ring center. Berto had to find a home for his right uppercut and he did, but Guerrero took a great punch. That was a great fight. My choice would be Guerrero/Berto over Rios/Alvarado. Just my feeling. Top fighters and more skill. Rios vs. Alvarado was great, but I think Guerrero/Berto had more variety to it. Both great fights.
