Lets make no mistake about it. Clottey was the draw here, not Pacquiao

How people never grasped the insane draw clottey was/is.

Fmj ducked clottey because his ego wouldn't let him be the B side

The population of the Philippines is over 100 million. Pac buys everyone a ppv to secure political office. 75% accept, kills two birds with one stone.

A lot a of people knew who Clottey was when he beat Cotto but not given the decision and his close fight with prime Margarito.

The success of the PPV was primarily fueled the incredible mainstream momentum that Pac had at the time combined with the fight partially marketed as the first boxing match at the new Cowboys Stadium. Clottey was respected but he could have been replaced with someone like Cintron or Berto and the fight would have sold the same if not better.

Maybe Berto but Cintron was just coming out of 2 knock out loses. Hell I paid for the Clottey fight but no way for Kermit the frog.

That was a horrible ppv that I bought. Worst undercard too. Clottey and his peak-a-boo defense.
