    JMM took a flush Bradley uppercut to the throat. Algieri took a flush Pac uppercut to the throat. How does such a shot not put someone down grasping for air?!

    large surface area from glove, wont have the same affect as a fist to the throat. are you hitting the wind pipe or punching neck muscles?

    Getting hit in the throat doesn't really make you gasp for air, it just hurts really bad. Doesn't hurt as bad in a fight situation due to adrenaline and the fighter having other things on his mind. Plus the glove cushions the impact and spreads the force over the whole neck. Not the same as taking a sneaky karate chop to the neck from your older brother or something.
