whats really sad, is people are actually saying that touch of sleep is at least a name..so ok....some justification but at the time he was 39 years old...and only claim to fame was beating an even older oliver mcall who was 42 and his other claim to fame is being kod by joe mesi in round 1. :think:think
If Holyfield is getting another title shot then this is nothing. Also, I would suggest you don't pay attention to the boxrec rankings as they're computerized. They had Haye #5 at Heavyweight even before fighting Barrett.
yeah i did......just adding to the fact that its funny to even make that stretch about williams being on his resume.....i knew you were trying to just point out at least one guy who has a name...even if it was a guy who was prob ranked 25th at the time..... shame on the WBA
If Kali Meehan being ranked #1 saves us from seeing another Ruiz title fight I'm all for it. The Valuev/Holyfield winner will have to fight Chagaev next anyway. If Holyfield were to somehow win he'd probably retire and let Meehan and Chagaev fight for the title. If not we're just gonna see Valuev/Chagaev II with Meehan waiting in the wings. You see how John Ruiz is kept out of the picture here? Not shame on the WBA. Good WBA, good WBA (making motion like petting a cat).
When Meehan knocked out TOS, Williamson was ranked pretty high. 4th in the WBA. Meehan was ranked top15 because he held a regional. Meehan essentially took his ranking. And thats that really. It just shows how **** the division is when two guys like that can get a top5 ranking. In that 13 month period I think fighting guys like Alexander and Bates should at best keep your ranking where it is (I think its better that you should get penalised and lose a few spots but whatever) but moving up 3 spots is a joke. Just shows how easily the organizations can be influenced.
Add to that, atleast Kali is watchable.... If I'm not mistaken, since the loss Meehan strung together some wins... and all of them have been by stoppage... So that in itself probably influenced the decision... add to that don king...
rumble, its a disgrace they've gotten so many title shots? meehans fought for a title once and was robbed.
williamson is the greatest boxer of all time he beat Kevin Mcbride, Mcbride beat Tyson(ATG), Tyson beat Holmes(ATG) and Holmes beat Ali(greatest of all time). so he in effect is the:bowdown greatest of all time....
