How the HW greats are linked You might find this thread a waste of time but its interesting how the great HW are connected J L Sullivan lost to Corbett who lost to Jefferies who lost to Jack Johnson who lost to Jess Willard who lost to Jack Dempsey who beat Jack Sharkey who lost to Joe Louis who lost to Ezzard Charles who lost to Rocky Marciano who beat Archie Moore who lost to Floyd Patterson who lost to Sonny Liston who lost to Muhammad Ali who lost to Joe Frazier who lost to George Foreman who lost to Muhammad Ali who lost to Larry Holmes who lost to Mike Tyson who lost to Holyfield who lost to Lennox Lewis who beat Vitali Klitschko Only person that doesn't fit in this chain is Gene Tunney hence Jack Sharkey is needed to keep the link going. Also Wladmir Klitschko does not fit into the link of great HW .
One thing I enjoy doing on BoxRec is, when I have a fighter in mind I want to look up, not using the Search function, but rather starting with someone in the current top 10 (usually Wlad due to the length of his career) and seeing how few clicks it takes to get me to the guy I want to look up. For example, Elmer Ray (first old timer name I thought of) - Wlad - Axel Schultz - George Foreman - George Chuvalo - Bob Baker - Sid Peaks - Elmer Ray As the OP said, it might be a waste of time, but it's something I find entertaining.
