With all this talk about PPV etc etc,set me thinking!!

I wonder how much Amir Khan actually receives from his total purse? I know he has to pay his manager and trainer and training expenses, sparring partners etc, but he does seem to have an awful high amount of hangers on and 'advisors', some of whom are family.

I can't be certain, but I understand the BUSINESS of boxing pretty well, and I get the impression there are plenty of people getting rich on the back of Amir Khan

You misunderstand. The question is,how much of his toital purse does he actually receive after the family and hangers on have taken their cut?

it all depends, the big thing now is to start up a promoting company, so you pay company tax which at a lot lower than personal tax especailly when yoy are talking millions of dollars.

If he has got any brains, He is the boss and he gets the gross amount which is agreed to by the promoter and Tv company and then He Khan pays them there amount which was agreed to.

I remeber once Tyson went to court to sue Don King.

And they took the purse for his Holyfield second fight and broke it up into like a apple chart.

    From a $35 million purse.

    Tyson got about $5 million.

Don King took a far bigger cut.

And all them hangers on and taxes and costs took out the rest.

Tyson was raped his whole life by these people getting rich off him - no wonder he is bitter.

    He was a uneducated mug.

And I know what he means when he says now

"Old too soon - smart too late"

A fool is easily seperated from there money, Tyson is a fool, he was to stupid to realize he was in charge, look at DLH, you make the demands, I get my money first and the agreed amount or I never fight under you again and I pay you to all the trainer, sparring partners and hanger on's not the other way around.

I suppose DLH and Ricky Hatton are good examples, and to be honest, good for them.

After all, they are the ones putting their lives on the line, and are entitled to the lions share of the money.

The fighter employs the trainer, his manager, and other hangers on, and should pay the bills, rather than receiving a cheque after those have been deducted.

Promoters like Don King "use" fighters to get rich
