I've seen a parkinsons affected 50 year old looking (while 38) former champ been put in with the current dominant champ and get brutalized for 10 onesided rounds.
If there's money to be made with it, there's always a corrupt enough boxing commission that will allow things like this to happen.

    Edit: oops

I'd rather not spoil it for you if you haven't watched the documentary I'll link below. It's really worth watching.

My countryman just lost his 4th pro fight, putting his record at 0-4. OK, he is not that good at boxing but his last fight should not have been sanctioned.
Why? Well, the guy made his debut at 135. His next fight was at 140 and the following bout took place at 147. He lost all of them(via decision), as already established. Now his last fight was at 160. And of course he lost it via TKO.
He should not have been allowed to take a fight at 160. Absolutely ridiculous.

I think if a fighter says no to a fight that will happen in a week after he got knocked out, he would be forgiven. Hell, fake an injury! Never put your health on the line for people making money off of you!

True and maybe they do have one, but a quick $20-$100 grand or plus payday is nice as **** when you can get your hands on it. I work a regular job and I wish I could go out and solve my money troubles in 2-3 $50 grand paydays. There's the rest of my mortgage right there.

not many are getting anywhere near $100,000 a fight. I'd bet most of the guys getting ko'd for a living are making 5-10 grand a fight at most.

Still good money for a nights work if you manage it right. Save on trainers, manage your nutrition, blaise' ,etc. If you got a solid job like my favorite LHW Joe Smith Jr. then a few grand here and there is great money for investing and what not.
I think from a regular guys perspective here , people overlook that average joe money. I've seen John Molina drive the same cars as Tim Bradley and Bradley has touched millions. Molina was just more active and had a solid name. It adds up after a while.

British boxing commission doesnt allow you to fight even if you have been knocked out in sparring within 2 weeks of a fight.

Other sports like rugby force players to not play for 2 weeks if they have suffered concussion.

In my view no boxer should be allowed to fight again less than 4-6 weeks after being knocked out. If you are consistently being knocked out in fights then you should have your licence taken away for an extended period.
